Loki - You Weren't There

Loki never understood it. Why would the Goddess of dreams ever want to pretend to be a human. Surrounding herself with them as if she wasn't above all of them.

He watched as you talked to some people on the street, your eyes met his and he could see the glare.

Excusing yourself you made your way over to him.

"You could at least dress a little more appropriately, instead or looking like a damn vampire." You grumbled looking at his black suit.

"I thought you liked the way I dressed, love." He taunted as you continued to glare at him.

"What do you want?" You grumbled as he chuckled and reached up to brushed some hair behind your ear.

You swatted his hand away.

"Oh, come now. Am I not allowed to come see you just for the sake of it?" He asked with his usual smirk.

"No, because you always come here wanting something. I haven't seen you in two years and you show up? So, I'll ask again. What do you want?" You said, your voice getting lower.

He chuckled softly and reached forward, placing a hand on your hip.

"Is it a crime for me to spend time with you now?" He asked.

If he had come back two years ago maybe the answer would be different, you would probably welcome him with open arms...well legs.

"We aren't doing this anymore, Loki." You said shoving his hand off your hip as you began to walk away. He rolled his eyes and walked next to you.

"Come on, love. Is this about me not coming when you called for me? I'm a busy God, love. I can't drop everything when you want." With that you stopped walking.

"Yes, in fact. It is about that. You don't get to ignore me for two years and ignore my calls for you and then come back just because you ran out of people to fuck." You growled, not bothering to turn around to face him.

"Come on, Y/N. You don't have to act like this. We have a good thing, you and I." He said as you shook your head and continued to walk.

He groaned and followed after you.

"I forget how emotional you get." He grumbled rolling his eyes.

"Are you really that upset?" He asked, you chuckled dryly and shook your head.

He was so clueless.

"It's been years, Loki. You come back as if it's nothing after ignoring me. I needed you, and you weren't there." You said, he could see the tears in your eyes.

"I'm very sorry I wasn't here for your silly little human problems." He replied.

You turned around and slapped him across the face.

He glared at you in shock.

"Did you just lay your hands on me?" He asked.

"I believe I did. Now, leave." You said, walking away.

You made it to your small cottage in town and Loki followed you inside.

"What in the nine realms has gotten into you? You're overreacting."

You wanted to stab him right there and then he was so utterly clueless and heartless.

"Because you weren't here!" You screamed turning around, he had never seen you this angry.

"I fucking needed you, Loki!" You continued to scream as he stared at you in shock.

"For what, Y/N. What could be so important that it has you reacting like this?" He asked as you wiped your eyes.

"I met someone... Someone who made me forget all the shitty things you did to me, made me forget about how many times you broke my goddamn heart." You said, he looked at you angrily.

"I assume it was some pathetic mortal then?" He replied as you glared at him.

"Yes... It was a mortal. I loved him so much, and he loved me so much. He was everything to me. I ended up pregnant... I was actually happy for once in my life, the thought of having a little family in this town." You explained, Loki scoffed and rolled his eyes again.

"You gave up godly abilities to play families?" He asked.

God, you could've killed him right there.

"He died... I was six months along. The grief was too much and I had a miscarriage. I sat on the floor, sobbing my eyes out and covered in blood, screaming for you, begging for you because I couldn't be alone. But, you didn't come did you?" You said as his face fell and he looked at you in shock.

"The entire town rallied around me... They helped me, they planned the funerals, they cooked for me, cleaned for me and did everything for me... That's when I realised some random humans in a town cared for me more than a God ever had." You continued, Loki was lost for words.

"I picked myself back up, I let go of the fact that you were never coming. Now, when you finally do you just want to have sex and leave again."

Loki looked at you, sadness in his eyes as everything finally hit him.

He hadn't been a good friend to you, when you needed him most he wasn't there.

"I only ever loved you when it was right for me..." He muttered as you looked at him in shock, you didn't expect him to be self aware after all this time.

"I loved you... Even after all you did, even when everyone else hated you. I was stupid to think you would ever love me back." You muttered as you sat down on your couch and sighed.

"I did...I do love you, Y/N. But, I never showed it how I should've." He muttered sitting beside you.

"I let go of you... I really did and now you just show up like nothing happened. I can't do this again." You whispered, sitting on your couch as you stared down in defeat.

Loki sat beside you.

"I'm sorry... I know that doesn't fix anything but, I truly am sorry." He whispered as you looked at him, sadness in your eyes.

"I did miss you... As much as I like having human friends, it gets lonely having to pretend I'm a human." You admitted as Loki gently reached forward and held your hand.

"I know it will take a lot for you to forgive me... But, if you will let me. I will spend as long as I can trying to make it up to you." He said as you gently played with his hand.

"You won't leave again?" You asked, your voice filled with vulnerability.

"No... And if I do I give you permission to call Hela to come and slap me." He said as you chuckled softly and rested your head on him shoulder and sighed.

Loki could see and feel how truly sad and alone you had been, he wrapped an arm around you.

"I'm here now, Y/N."
