MYLA POV

I'm taken back by the size of the castle. It seems even larger than then the one in Italy. Will this all be mine one day? I'm thrilled by the thought and want to explore every place.

Business first and fun later. The door immediately opens a line of maids and servants form. They bow to me as I enter the castle and I'm suddenly abashed. Is this how it will always be?

"Myla you made it." My grandmother gives me a rib breaking hug and I part her back.

My grandfather sees this and comes to my rescue. "Lay up on her dear, your going to break her ribs."

She gives me another squeeze and let's me go. I absentmindedly rub my ribs as I look around the castle. "Welcome home my Petite-fille."

Alissa hangs back slightly; she looks like she feels a little out of place. I motion for her to follow and she hesitates before complying.

"Would you like a tour of the castle?" My grandmother is dressed in a long flowing white gown and looks beautiful.

"No thank your Grand-mère," I said. "I would love one later, but I want to get straight to business."

My father nods and my grandmother smile falters in front a second. "Of course just like your grand-père and mother."

I follow behind them and try to take in as much of my surroundings as possible. It feels more homely here and cozy, there isn't a lot or red and cold, but blue and gold. Their is white flowers sitting on mini tables all along the wall.

"This place is beautiful," I said. She let out a soft laugh. "This is your home, everything here is yours as well as mine."

I liked the sound of that. I belonged somewhere. I had family and here no one would boss me around.

"Should I remove myself?" Alissa looked a little nervous. I shook my head. "If you want too, but I don't mind if you stay."

The study is large and spacious and the chairs are reasonable sizes. Unlike Asher's father, my grandfather had a more humble approach. The chair was something extravagant but less decorative.

"I trust you find this more comfortable then the previous establishment."

I let out a laugh, "much more comfortable." I send Alissa an apologetic look about trashing their hospitality.

"This place is brighter than my home and lovely," she said.

My grandfather grabs an ancient book from the shelf and takes his time waking back to us. "This book here is an ancient book, written by two powerful vampires over centuries. It's the only one of its existence and a heirloom to our family."

I study the book and notice how old the pages are. It seems like pages have been added to the book over years and the pages yellow. It looks like it will turn to dust in your fingers if you turn the pages.

"In this book a prophecy was written, the prophecy told the story of a child being born of high blood. The child would have the benefit of both worlds, she would have the gift to see the past, present and future. The half human and half vampire, would be able to possibly changed the course of history. She would get stronger as she aged and would be the damnation to all of our existence. "

I shiver and I don't know why. I'm always cold, but I'm never freezing. It feels like fear is trailing a finger down my spine. "It's just a story right. I can not see no visions or any other supernatural things. I'm damn sure not stronger then any of you."

"Not now your not. Soon you will be. You're mother knew that people were willing to do anything to get to you. Vampires like to be powerful and they would have used you for all kinds of evil things."

I lean over in the chair and place my elbows on my knees; cupping my face in my hand. "Why did she not just turned me in and save herself the trouble?"

"Myla you are her pride. Vampire's don't give birth like humans. Vampire eggs are more limited," said my Grandfather.

That would explain why not everyone know about vampires. She left to protect me and now I will find her no matter what. "Do you know where she could have went?"

"She didn't leave instructions on where to find her," my grandfather said. I stare at the large painting of a beautiful dark haired women. Her skin is pale and she is wearing a long flowing gown.

"Grandmother who is that?"

"That's your great grandmother my mother. She died around a thousand years ago."

My mouth drops open, "vampires can die."

"No one is truly immortal Myla."

"Isabella you can't be sure. It might be better protection for you if you stay with Myla." The king said.

Isabella still has second doubts about what she is doing. But what choice do I have. That is my daughter the future to our kingdom, I must protect her.

"They will track me down. They know my scent," Isabella said. "She will be able to blend into the human world for the first seventeen years."

A shadow passes across the Queen and kings face. They know that their is no changing their daughters mind once she decides on something.

"What about when she turns 18?"

Isabella taps on her knee nervously. "I figured of I have no connection with Myla. They will lose track of her. When she turns into a vampire, they will not be able to track her. She might blend in with the rest of us."

The king rubs his chin. "Isabella are you sure. She is valuable and they might be able to track her."

"They never met her father." she twirls the gold band on her finger. "I can convince a human man to take me as their wife and her has their child."

"You know mind control is dangerous."

Isabella looks away from her father. "I have to try at least for her."
