Aerius was ecstatic that Haven had finally agreed to his plans of eliminating Aerius and his family. Holding her hand, he glanced at the ring with pure disdain. He looked at her, his eyes dark and intense. "Just a little longer, Snow," he murmured, kissing her forehead with a chilling tenderness.
Haven, her voice steady but her eyes betraying her fear, replied, "Fulfill your promise now."
Aerius smirked, a sinister glint in his eyes. "For sure," he assured her.
As the night deepened, Aerius led her to his room. Fear gnawed at Haven's insides, her mind racing with thoughts of what he might do. Noticing her pale face, Aerius chuckled darkly. "Don't worry, Snow. I have no intention of making love to you right now unless you want me to." Haven looked at him in fear and disgust.
Making love? He calls "raping" making love? She shuddered internally.
Aerius opened a hidden door leading to a secret dungeon. They crept out of the mansion, a car waiting for them in the shadows. He blindfolded her, and they drove off into the night.
When the car stopped, Aerius led Haven through a dense forest to an abandoned building. The air was thick with decay, the smell making Haven's stomach churn.
Inside, the building was decrepit, the walls crumbling and the floor covered in dirt and grime. Aerius removed Haven's blindfold, and her heart shattered at the sight before her.
Her brother, Aezwan, lay battered and bruised, chained to the wall in a dark, dingy room illuminated by a single, flickering light. His naked back was a canvas of whip marks, his body shivering from pain and cold.
"A-Aezy," Haven whispered, her voice breaking as tears welled up in her eyes.
Aezwan's eyes fluttered open, a rattling cough escaping his parched lips as he tried to speak. Desperation clawed at Haven as she looked around for water, but all she found was dirty, muddy water from the sink.
She turned to Aerius, who was casually scrolling through his phone. "Get me some clean water for him," she demanded, her voice tinged with desperation.
Aerius raised an eyebrow at her tone. "Excuse me?" he said, his voice dangerously low.
Haven shut her eyes, taking a deep breath before opening them again. "Please, arrange some water, food, and blankets for him, please," she pleaded, her voice cracking with emotion.
Aerius's expression softened slightly as he leaned in, kissing her forehead. "Sure, baby," he said before leaving the room.
Haven rushed back to Aezwan's side, gently cradling his head. "I'm so sorry, Aezy," she whispered, her tears falling onto his battered skin. "It's all happening because of me. I-I a-am so sorryy."
Aezwan's eyes, though filled with pain, held a flicker of relief at seeing his sister. "H-Haven," he rasped, his voice barely audible. "You shouldn't be here. He did- arghh he didn't kill me, what did y-you do?"
"Shhh p-please stop talking, I will fi-fix what I h-have b-broken," she replied, her voice trembling. "I won't leave you to suffer alone." Aezvan looked at her confused. He wanted to know what is that monster doing to his little sister.
Minutes felt like hours as she waited for Aerius to return. Her heart pounded in her chest, each beat echoing in the silence of the room. Finally, Aerius returned, carrying a jug of clean water, some food, and a couple of blankets.
"Here," he said, setting the items down. "Take care of your poor brother." Aerius mocked.
Haven ignoring his remarks quickly poured some water into a cup and brought it to Aezwan's lips. He drank greedily, the water soothing his parched throat. She then offered him some food, small bites that he could manage.
As she worked to make her brother comfortable, Aerius watched, a strange expression on his face. It was a mix of fascination and something else, something darker. He seemed almost intrigued by the depth of Haven's love for his brother.
He wondered would she still give two fucks about him when she will get to know that Aezwan is not her brother.
"Why do you care so much for him?" Aerius asked suddenly, breaking the silence. "You never cared for me like that hmmm. So biased you are little snow"
Haven glared at him, her eyes blazing with fury. "After taking me through hell you are accusing me of being biased. You should know better than anyone that at one point of time I chose you over everyone and I curse myself for that. I loved you and idolised you. I was in the delusion that I have an amazing brother and I don't need any one else and look where all those praying led me to, with you disgusting monster. So yes, the only person I care for right now is my brother Aezwan and I'll do anything to protect him."
Aerius smirked, leaning against the wall. "You think you can protect him from me?" he asked, his voice dripping with condescension. "You have no idea what you're up against."
"I do" Haven replied, her voice steady despite the fear gnawing at her insides. "But I'll die trying."
Aerius laughed, a cold, heartless sound that sent shivers down Haven's spine. "You're brave, I'll give you that," he said. "But bravery won't save him. Or you. And about dying well you we will see about that."
Haven's heart ached at his words, but she refused to show her fear. She focused on Aezwan, gently wrapping a blanket around him. "Stay strong, Aezy," she whispered. "I'll find a way to get us out of here."
Aezwan managed to stroke her hair, his eyes filled with concern for her. "You don't need to, run away h-haven," he said, his voice barely more than a whisper. "I will be able to die in peace."
Haven held his hand, her heart heavy with the weight of their predicament. She knew that their path to freedom would be fraught with danger, but she was determined to fight for her brother's life, no matter the cost.
"I will embrace death happily for you aezy" she whispered.
As the night wore on, Haven sat beside Aezwan, her mind racing with plans and possibilities. She knew that she couldn't trust Aerius, but she had no choice left but to obey him.
Her thoughts were interrupted by Aerius, who had been silently observing them. "You know," he said, his voice low and contemplative, "I love how you're so resilient. It's almost admirable."
Haven looked up at him, her eyes filled with defiance. "Don't mistake my resilience for acceptance," she replied. "I'll never accept what you've done to us."
Aerius chuckled, shaking his head. "Oh, baby," he said, his voice tinged with mock pity. "You still don't understand, do you? This isn't about acceptance. It's about survival. And in this game, survival requires sacrifice."
Haven's heart clenched at his words, but she refused to let him see her fear. She held Aezwan's hand tighter, drawing strength from his presence. "We'll survive," she said, her voice unwavering. "And we'll do it together."
Aerius's expression darkened, his eyes narrowing as he looked at her. "We'll see about that," he said, his voice filled with a chilling promise. "We'll see."
The room fell silent once more, the tension thick in the air. Haven knew that the road ahead would be treacherous, but she was determined to protect her brother at all costs. She had accepted her fate, death is what she aimed for once she makes sure that her brother is safe.
"I would want god to vanish your soul forever as my dying wish " she seethed in her head looking at Aerius with a blank expression.
