"Thank you for flying with us." The blonde air hostess flashed us a smile, a fake and forced smile she has been practicing for years. My eyes were dead set on the jet-black haired girl infront of me, reminding myself again and again that she was finally safe with me. The amount of times I checked up on her during our two hour flight was almost creepy.
I don't care though. I can go to any length for her safety and if anyone thinks it is creepy, they can go fuck themselves.
The cool air of Bordeaux made me halt in my steps and close my eyes momentarily, just breath in the fresh air which reeked of freedom. Everything that had happened in the past few months had really taken a number on me. That fucking poor excuse of a man ruined me, ruined her. I should have known that deranged scumbag's motives. How could I have let this happen?
"Lev?" A quiet voice spoke up from beside me, taking my hand in her soft grip. I opened my eyes and prayed on my fucking life that Sirena didn't notice the warmth spreading across my cheeks. Judging by her worried expression, she didn't. "Are you okay? You look a bit.. detached."
"I will be fine as long as you are with me." I pressed my lips on the crown of her head, my stomach fluttering when she smiled. I would do anything to keep that gorgeous smile on her face. "Are you okay?"
She visibly exhaled, very shakily if I may add. The slight tremble of her chin did not go unnoticed by me. "I am really scared. What if he finds us?"
I don't even want to imagine what he will do if he finds us. Just the thought of that psychotic man leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. He intimidates me- scratch that, he fucking terrifies me, a lot more than I would ever admit out loud infront of Sirena. The way he used to stay calm and tranquil while his guards beat the absolute shit out of me still remains fresh in my mind.
"He won't." I reassured her, tightening my grip around her hand. She looked equally scared of him just like I was, which really put an unsettling feeling in my heart. What the fuck did he do to her? Elliott is completely and utterly obsessed with Sirena, no doubt there. No person on their right state of mind actually kidnaps a girl and forcibly marries her despite getting rejected. "I will make sure of it."
She goes silent after that, continuing to rest her head against my shoulder once we got out of the airport and called a cab in our direction. The bright lights of the Bordeaux city were fascinating to say the least. Even though I was looking out the window and trying to indulge my focus within the unfamiliar place's visual, the thoughts of what Sirena might have went through kept circulating inside my head.
With each passing second, I was getting more and more nauseous. She was all alone with him, a fucked up man who is unnaturally attracted to her. What if he tried to do something?
