The pulsing of my veins behind my head was almost unbearable, as my eyes slowly opened and met with the blackness around me. My face scrunched up at the foul, musty odour I was inhaling.

My disoriented vision didn't help much in navigating the foreboding place I was in. The hard and cold concrete surface beneath me were reflecting the long shadows fallen from the dimmed lighting hung from above me.

Where was I?

The unanswered question made my head throb with a terrible headache, as I shut my eyes close tightly. I so badly wanted to block out the recollection of my cursed fate, but the images of him finding me was flooding right back into my mind.

Maybe, all these were just a dream. I always get nightmares of him, right? They always feel unnaturally real with a sense of foreshadowing followed behind. Nothing makes this silly nightmare any different than the ones I get in the middle of the night. Soon, I would wake up and get ready to go to work with Levi.

But, if it really is just a silly nightmare, where is that distinct humming coming from? The mellow tune was nothing short of creepy, making me squeeze myself against the mosaic wall and pray to the Almighty to get this nightmare over with already.

One minute. Two minutes. Five minutes. Ten minutes. I kept counting in my head, trying to ignore the heavy footsteps coming near me and preparing myself to witness the end of this nightmare already.

But, who would tell me that luck was and never will be on my side?

They call it an intuition, but I will solely call this an odd  warning. Every action has a consequence. That is what the strange writing of blood said on the wall from across me. The sight of the blood wasn't what made me uneasy though - considering how all my nightmares consists of deaths and blood - it was the odd words.

I held in my breath, catching onto the fact that both the humming and footsteps had now stopped. A faint ringing noise was playing in a distance, almost resembling an alarm. I couldn't tell if it was my horrendous alarm clock trying to pull me back to reality or the repetitive vibration in my ears, either way I wanted it to stop.

Perhaps, this was the end of it?

No.

An eldritch and ominous presence stood right beside me, closely following my every movement with their penetrative gaze. My chest fell up and down in an abnormal rhythm, the pattern of my harsh breathing the only thing that could be heard in this eerie silence.
