Beep Beep Beep
There was an repetitive ringing growing in my ears, completely hampering my hearing system. My eyelids felt heavy, the darkness surrounding it causing a wave of paranoia and helplessness wash over me. After several futile attempts of regaining my vision, I finally succeeded and was met with torturous bright lights.
My eyes burned, as I shut them close again while a groan erupted from the back of my throat. Everything was aching. There was a suffocating heaviness on my chest, making it harder to inhale air.
I moved my gaze around to navigate through the situation I was in and try to figure out where I was. Why on earth couldn't I remember anything? There were pale blue painted walls around, a white leather couch lined against the wall. A series of abstract paintings were hung above the couch. There was a TV right ahead of me with a tall window beside it, revealing the depths of the darkened evening sky. There was also an armchair beside my bed-
My whole body stilled in trepidation, the memories of what resulted me in this state finally settling within my mind.
There he was, seated in the tall armchair with his legs crossed. His head was dropped low, strands of jet-black hair dangling in the air. Although he was asleep, his demeanor still felt dark and dominating.
An involuntary scream left my mouth, as sparks of pain shot through my throat. There was a dry and scratchy feeling in there, but that didn't stop my cries for help.
Elliott's chartreuse eyes snapped open, as he shot up from his seat and inched his ring-clad hand closer to his waistband. His silk white shirt rose up slightly, revealing the metal weapon which made my blood run cold.
The heart monitor from beside me beeped loudly, effectively moving his narrowed gaze over my trembling form. I tried to sit up straight to escape his intense gaze, only to fall back with a pained whimper. It feels like I don't even have an ounce of energy or strength left in me.
He instantly pushed the gun back inside the leather holster, striding towards the me with wide eyes. I recoiled back instinctively when he engulfed me in an embrace, his arms going around my waist firmly.
"You are finally awake." He pulled back and cupped my face in his large hands, pressing his lips on my forehead in a gentle kiss. I couldn't stop the tears that cascaded down my eyes, heart beat quickening with his each touch. "I am so sorry for everything, my love. Please forgive me."
"Get away from me." I whispered, pressing my palm against his chest in a failed attempt of pushing him away. My eyes fell on my battered wrists, which were hurting from lifting up. They were bruised from being held up by those awful chains. "Please."
"Love, calm down." Elliott gently tried to push me back against the headboard, his gaze softening when I sobbed miserably. He is making it worse by touching me. "Please lay down, you are still weak."
