Max's POV
It was the end of the night, we had like 30 minutes left before we had to leave. We were all in line for the ferris wheel, we decided it would be the last ride we all go on.
I noticed Richie and Eddie were talking and being touchy, I thought it was kinda cute.
From the start I thought Richie was gay of course, I mean who wouldn't? He just looked like he was forcing the straight looks, he wasn't phased by a girl doing something amazing, he just thought that he could do it better.
I thought Richie was obviously flirting with Eddie, it confused me how Eddie didn't know.
Anyways, we all had our tickets in hand and we finally were able to go on. I wanted to get on with El but Richie insisted on going on with me because he said, "You might be scared."
I was a little annoyed but I sarcastically agreed with him that I was scared.
He reached out to hold my hand, but I moved it away, trying to not make it too embarrassing for him, making it look like an accident by putting my hand in my pocket.
Mike and El got on after us and Eddie and Will got on together after them, I was of course a bit jealous by the fact that Mike was with El and I wasn't, but whatever.
I held Richie's hand when the ferris wheel moved and Richie fixed his glasses in a nervous way, I thought it was funny cause I didn't know what he was actually nervous about.
I looked over at Richie, I was pretty confused on why he wanted to ride with me. "Richie, how come you wanted to ride with me and not Eddie?
Richie looked a bit more nervous and I was really confused. "Richie, nothing will happen to us on this ferris wheel, even if it did, being with me won't save you."
Richie raised an eyebrow

"I'm not scared, Max, I like you!" Richie whispered, but it was a loud whisper. I was hella confused though and it was obvious.
"Wait, what?!" I yelled, Richie also looked confused.
"You held my hand, I thought you kinda got the hint or liked me too?!" Richie whispered, still yelling though a bit, but only in shock.
I looked around in shock, before speaking again."I just thought that you were scared and that's why you wanted to go on with me, specifically!" I whispered, but loudly, I was very confused.
Richie scoffed and laughed. "Hunny, you do not look that tuff."
(IM KIDDING HE DIDN'T ACTUALLY SAY THAT.)
Richie scoffed and spoke sarcastically. "Yeah, I'm that scared of a fucking ferris wheel, thank you very much Maxine."
I sighed feeling stupid for not seeing it. "Sorry, It just wouldn't have ever crossed my mind that you'd like me."
Richie's expression softened and he sighed. "You're amazing, why wouldn't I?"
I sighed realizing why he said that and spoke again. "I'm not saying that because I'm insecure, I'm saying it because I thought you were gay Richie!"
I realized that he probably would've been a bit hurt by that or something so I just waited for a reaction out of him, but he just bursted out laughing.
I raised an eyebrow in confusion but then laughed a little bit with him, still confused. Soon the ride ended and we all got off.
Me and Richie didn't talk about it at all but he did go to Eddie right afterwards and talked to him.
Although I wanted to know what was happening, I insisted on forgetting and just focusing on El.
