Will's POV

I was with Mike in his room, sitting on the floor as I waited for Richie to come upstairs. I was going to go downstairs to sleep in the basement with Eddie but decided to wait with Mike in his room until he came upstairs.

Mike was in his bed lying down. Usually, he'd be annoyed about Richie taking so long, but this time he just seemed like he really didn't care.

As we were waiting, I watched him sit up to get a magazine that he had left on his bed. I watched his hand as it reached for it, his bitten nails painfully visible. He flipped through the pages, skimming over the words, not really taking any time to fully read and understand them.

Once he got to the last page, which was awfully quick given he had skipped most of them, he set the magazine aside so he could finally get out of bed to sit next to me.

"I don't think that Richie's coming upstairs..." he said, his voice soft and pleasant, making my heart race a bit. I looked at him with a modest expression, unable to look at him for too long. I slowly looked away again, feeling Mike's shoulders relax. He never even noticed the tension. "Should I go check?"

Mike paused. It was quiet for a bit so I looked back at him. He wasn't looking at me anymore since I turned around. I'm guessing he didn't notice I looked at him since when he tried to presumably sneak a glance at me, he looked away in panic. "Just stay here."

I wasn't expecting that. Did he not want me to leave? His voice, he said, his voice firm, leaving no room for argument. Before I could say anything else, he began to stand up. "I'll go see what they're doing. Don't leave," he said, his voice now confident, as if the earlier panic never existed.

I sighed and stayed sitting down, waiting for him to get back.

Mike's POV

As I went down the stairs, I thought about how I didn't really want to have Will leave me. I wanted him to stay and for us to talk more, or just stay in the same room at least. I guess I wasn't thinking too straight because I decided I was going to ask Richie to stay with Eddie.

I opened the basement door, lost in thought, then I heard Richie and Eddie speaking. I stood there hearing their conversation, maybe not all, but enough. Although I was thinking of Will the entire time because I eventually zoned out.

I heard Richie walking up the stairs and snapped out of it. Richie reached the top, and I looked at him with visible nervousness.

"What's up with you, weirdo?" he said. I then frowned and sighed. I couldn't stop thinking about Will, about how I should talk to him more and that we have hardly done anything together, and how I've been neglecting him. "Please stay with Eddie!" I blurted, my voice a bit panicked.

Richie raised an eyebrow, processing my words. I knew already what was coming and sighed in irritation as a smirk formed on his pink, chapped lips. "What are you gay? Do you like Will? WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE ALONE TOGETHER SO BAD?!"

I wasn't having it, and I hit him with irritation. "Shut the fuck up, Richie, he might hear you, dumbass!" I whispered aggressively, visibly growing red from embarrassment, although Richie was not taking anything seriously whatsoever.

I waited patiently for Richie to shut the hell up, and when he finally stopped laughing, I spoke again. "I just want to hang out with my friend. I feel like I've been neglecting him a bit, and you should stay with Eddie. We can hang out still after, but we've got to take care of our friends."

Richie finally became serious and slowly nodded. "Yeah, I guess you're right," he said with a chill voice before patting my back and walking down the stairs. "Have fun with your boyfriend," he said, whispering the word "boyfriend."

I rolled my eyes and walked back upstairs. Will was sitting there patiently waiting for me. I go to my bed and sit down. "Richie and Eddie fell asleep. I don't want to interrupt them. You can sleep here. Richie sleepily said so," I said. It was a lie, and you guys know it. No need to call me out.

Will looked at Richie's messy bed and looked back at the floor. "I'd rather sleep on the floor," he said. He was serious about it.

I laughed just slightly at his reaction to Richie's bed. He watched as I laughed and gave me a soft smile that secretly made my heart flutter. Completely dazed, I randomly spoke. "You can sleep in my bed..." I immediately realized how that sounded and snapped out of my dazedness. "I mean, I'll sleep on the floor for you. I don't mind."

Will knew that I was serious. He knew I wasn't going to change my mind, so he nodded and stood up. "Thank you, Mike," he said, his voice soft, and it made me feel so warm inside hearing him say my name. "No problem."

Later that night, while I was sleeping on the floor, I randomly got up and slept in my bed again, but it wasn't next to Will. It was on the bottom of the bed. I slept the best I've ever slept being in the same bed as him.
