Chloe's POV:
April 7th, 2093, 07:45:
Vanguard Base:

Inside one of the combat facilities on this base, Spartan Dicena and I were fighting in hand-to-hand combat, an exercise that both her and I did back in the Anthro Army. This was before I joined the Alpha Team, but training with her like this was stress-relieving, if nothing else. Our respective teams were on the sidelines, watching our fight and hopefully learning.

Blocking a tail swipe from Dicena, I held onto her tail before spinning her around and slamming her on the floor. She retaliated very quickly by sliding towards me and swinging my legs out from beneath me. Landing on the floor with a thud, I soon found myself underneath Dicena as she got on top of me. She raised her fist to punch me, but I quickly caught it.

After catching it, I bended my legs before pushing Dicena off me with them. She flipped back as I did this, hitting me in the face with her tail as she landed on her face. Shaking my head, I rolled back onto my feet before rushing Dicena, swiping my claws at her in multiple angles. While she too was a Spartan II, even she couldn't dodge all of my strikes.

However, she quickly redirected one of my claw strikes before kicking me square in the gut, causing me to back up. She quickly followed through by jumping in the air and doing a spinning kick. At least, I thought, until she just landed on the ground, and instead of kicking my legs out, she kicked me in the face, causing me to back further away. Yet, as she went to punch me, I backed away at last second and kicked her right leg out, causing her to kneel.

Following through with this, I wrapped my tail around her neck, spun in the air, before using the momentum to throw her away, causing her to roll on the floor as she landed. Running over, I grabbed the back of her head before slamming it on the ground, causing the ground beneath her to crack. Lifting her back onto her feet, she was slightly wobbly, which I took advantage of.

I punched her in the gut twice before doing a spinning kick to the side of her head. Afterwards, I grabbed her tail as she turned around before pulling her back. After going past me, I jumped in the air before kicking her in the face with a downwards motion, causing her to kneel again. Landing on one foot in front of her, I was about to slam my other foot on the back of her head when she suddenly jumped up and wrapped her arms around my left leg, the one in the air.

Using her tail, she swiped my other foot out from beneath me and spun me around before slamming me onto the floor, my back on it. She was quick to get on top of me again, placing both of her legs on my arms to restrict my resistance. She then punched my face left to right before I bended my lower body upwards, wrapped my legs around her neck, and pulled her back.

I wrapped my arms around both of her legs to keep her struggling low, her arms attempting to break my hold on her neck. I then started pushing against Dicena's head while pulling her legs, hearing her choke as she tried to force my legs to open. But this hold I was doing was nearly unbreakable, and it shouldn't be long now before she decides to tap out.

After two minutes of holding her like this, I felt her force a sigh out before tapping my thigh twice, signaling her defeat. Releasing her head and legs, she gave a loud inhale of air before returning her breathing to normal. She then got off of me and allowed me to stand back up. Afterwards, I looked down at her kneeling position and offered my hand to help her back up.

She took my hand within an instant, letting me help her back up to her feet. Afterwards, she looked at me before saying,

Spartan Dicena: "Good hold, your flexibility was quite on point today."

Chloe: "Thank you, your tail strikes were handy when you utilized them unexpectedly."

Afterwards, I turned to my team as Dicena turned to hers, both of us wondering what they learned. From what I saw, Zero, Ruby, Mariana, Rena, and even Via were paying attention. Douglas, however, was sleeping against the wall, something I can tell despite the helmet on his head. Walking away, I went up to Douglas before shaking him awake.
