(A/N: Before we begin, I ask, if you're a fan of Overlord, to not immediately tell me I'm not following the Canon, and to please know that what you read isn't official at all, at least the Overlord part, everything outside of that is happening in the War series. Now, I do apologize for any offense, but please know that this is just a story chapter and in no way should be taken seriously.
Also, Orion will be with Helena for this chapter, just to avoid any confusion.
Just in case, there'll be some slight spoilers in case if you haven't watched Overlord yet, if you continue reading, then you've been fairly warned.
Finally, this chapter is over 17k words long, so a long read awaits.
Now back to the story.)
Rex's POV:
April 10th, 2093, 08:25:
Washington, D.C.:
Sitting in my office, I was going over the reports I was given by my assistant just moments ago. The amount of paperwork was tiring and gruesome, but someone had to do it, and being a General had its responsibilities. Inside of it was reports from Helena, stating events that have been going on with Zero and the rest of Alpha Team.
Fighting more monsters, traveling between dimensions, and actually being dead for over a minute. Putting down the reports, I clutched my head, wondering why it had to be Zero to suffer through all of this pain. He's been through so much already, and he has huge expectations placed on him, some of which seems impossible. Knowing him, he would probably say things along the line of, 'Eh, it is what it is.'
Hearing a knock on my door, I looked up and placed my hands on the table before saying loudly,
Rex: "Come in."
As the door open, my eye's raised in surprise as I saw the Darkness walking in, his armored boots clanking against the wood floor. Sophia entered soon afterwards, closing the door afterwards as she said,
Sophia Greymore: "Rex, we need to talk."
Rex (nods): "Alright, what's going on?"
Darkness: "I'm sure you already read the report of the Executioner killing Zero and nearly the Alpha Team, yes?"
I nodded at him, a silent acknowledgment that I did. After I did that, he said,
Darkness: "Well, that's a sign that we have to get ready for a war with the Reapers."
Sophia Greymore (surprised): "What, with the Reaper's? But the Darkness, that doesn't make any sense, why would anyone fight the Reaper's? They're in the Eastern Continents and they are completely immune to all conventional forms of weaponry."
Darkness: "You believe that they will stay on those Continents forever?"
After he said that, the room went silent as both Sophia and I looked at him with curiosity. What the hell was he even talking about? The Reaper's die if they come into contact with water, so swimming is out of the question. Looking at the Darkness, I asked,
Rex: "Can you further elaborate on that?"
Darkness (nods): "Of course, there'll be a war between two major factions of Reapers, and without the Alliance's intervention, the bad side will win and wipe out all non-Reaper life on the planet."
Rex: "Factions? What are these factions and who are their leaders?"
Darkness: "The side I urge you to support is called The Lost, led by the Lost Reaper King. The Lost is a collection of humans and Anthro's who survived nuclear Armageddon when the Eastern Continents blew themselves up. The Lost live with Reaper's, and with Zero being the Chosen, he is seen as their savoir."
