In the woods thundering could be heard, as amongst the trees were marching a column of five thousand Persian troops. The detachment was lead by commander Latem Waul, under the command of the red General, and just as fiery and eager as his commanding officer.
"Hustle men! The longer we stay here the more German supplies reach the Kaiser's armies," Latem shouted to his men.
"Yes sir!" All the soldiers shouted. While the soldiers obliged they were tired and were suffering from fatigue. So the last thing any soldier could be thinking would be that the entire forest, behind every tree, was a German Jaeger with his sights set on the head of an oblivious Persian soldier. As the Persian soldiers marched by Captain Scharf raised his hand, and the two lieutennants to the trees adjacent to him nodded. Sharf lined the scope of his rifle on one of the few war elephants Persia possessed, and squeesed the trigger. The bullet soared through the air like an eagle, and impaled staight through the elephant's eye. The mamoth beast screamed in pain but then slumped to the ground, followed by the erruption of shots from the rest of Sharf's company.
What followed could only be described as total and complete anarchy, on the part of the Persians. As bullets whizzed through the air, groups of Persians tried to find cover behind boulders or foliage, but to no avail.
"Dammit! The Germans have found us, they're everywhere," Latem exclaimed. A few seconds after, one of his fellow soldiers was shot through the head by a German bullet. Latem had experienced horrors like this during the first Persian offensive but at this rate his entire detachment was going to be eliminated. But then the Persian commander noticed some of his soldiers dropping their weapons and putting their hands up. Latem was furious and his hatred for the desserters eclipsed that of his enemy. He then went on a rampage, slicing and murdering the surrendering Persians. "Fight on you cowards!" Captain Sharf then saw the commotion and went down himself, sliding down the ridge, dividing the forrest and the pathway the Persians were travelling on. Sharf then saw the rampaging Persian commander cutting through his own men, this disgusted Sharf and vowed to put a stop to this. The captain slung his rifle on his shoulder and then took his green luger pistol from his holster, and aimed it at Latem's head. After hacking through a Persian soldier's head Latem turned behind him, and the last thing he saw was Sharf pointing his pistol straight at his head. Sharf pulled the trigger, and shot hit it's target square in the head. Latem fell to the ground, his eyes open, and blood flooding from his mouth. Thankfully Latem didn't kill all of his surrendering men and as the Jeagers emerged from the trees the remaining Persians were more than happy to enter their custody. Sharf allowed himself a slight chuckle before the roaring of the company's armoured communication car drive down to the captain.
