"You must be joking?" Wilhelm asked his fiance as she showed him the letter. They had both just gotten out of bed as Ida had given Freida a letter with a Visean seal, the previous day Frieda had cut and dyed her haird into a silvery white that hung down until the top of her neck. Wilhelm and Freida were still in their nightgowns, Wilhelm blushed whenever he laid his eyes on her voluptuous figure exemplified by thin fabric. Puffs of snow lined the windows as winter drifted down onto the streets of Berlin.
"Yes, my sister, and your brother, have invited us both to a high school reunion." Freida said plainly. The high school they both attended was one for Visean royals, they were all teenagers then, and Wilhelm was still the heir of the Visean throne. Wilhelm wondered wether he would he his old friends. The high school was where he met Freida, as well as the current vice-captain of the Visean royal guard - subordiante to Freida's sister Evelyn, the son of the owner of the adventurers guild in Maranade - very prestigious and wealthy, and the son Edmur Hattle and heir to the throne to the Dominion of Kosher. The dominion was once the only nation with equal power and wealth to Visea, although Dannik commanded Wilhelm to befreind him they had similar interests and got along anyway. Together they had formed a clique with Freida, who was more introverted at the time, and all became friends. However, Wilhelm's brother Max and Freida's sister Evelyn were also born in the same year so also attended the same school. While they both managed, not a week went by without either Max or Evelyn bugging the pair. They were the antithesis of both Wilhelm and Freida.
Wilhelm sighed when Freida read out the letter. He didn't really want to go, but he would see his old freinds again.
"I think we ought to go, it won't be fun for any of us but it would be good to see the gang again. What do you think?" Wilhelm asked.
"I agree, it would be nice to see them again." Freida said and turned to Wilhelm's cheif secretary Ida. "Ida make the arrangements please." Ida clicked her heels and bowed her head before going away to perform her bidding.
Meanwhile, in a warehouse at the border city of Moers on the Postellio-German border, a group of conspirators met in an almost cultish atmosphere. Eight members were present, all dressed in sinister masks with slicing eyes and piercing teeth, tricorne hats with feathers, and garbs embroidened in gold.
"The death of the Grey General has stalled our plans in Germany." One of the masked people stated.
"Our supporters in Germany have failed to stop the destruction of resistance cells across the occupied territories." Another said.
"Speaking of which, send them inside." A female conspirator ordered, and two German officers approached, completely unmasked and in their uniforms. They were Generals Walter Model and Erich Ludendorff. "When we first approached you two, you were so eager to help us in hope of toppling Germany's future Empress." Both Model and Ludendorff hated the new Empress, as when she was Field Marshal she had reprimanded them for their brutal treatment of civilians. Subsequentially, many officers shamed them and both had SB adjundants that reported on their actions: to prevent further warcrimes. Both were also denied promotions to Marshalls, as they requested this shortly after the rank's creation. Marshal von Hammerstein had sent a Memo to the Kaiser including the following contents:
