Three months after the bombing of Omesos.
Upon the seas a Persian fleet had just sailed into German waters. The Persian fleet was led by a mercenary from the Malmond Mercenary state: Captain Sir Francis Haddock.
Since Haddock was already out at sea at the time the Perserkrieg was declared his ship was not destroyed by German mines that Malmond was still trying to clear, but what they didn't know was that german U-boat minelayers were replacing the mines weekly.
Captain Haddock was a stern man and was eager when Persian admiral Doggitch Tempest deployed him on this mission. The admiral sent Haddock with the bulk of the Persian fleet including: three 122-gun ships-of-the-line (one of which Haddock took as his flagship), four 80-gun ships-of-the-line, eight 38-gun frigates, and twelve sloops. Haddock had heard rumours of German technology: that they had guns larger than a sloop were common rumours amongst the navies of the world. Haddock had read up on his probable opponent: Admiral Franz von Hipper. He had done so through reports that the Sirens made to Emperor Darrian, though he was less than pleased to hear those reports. Haddock, like many, despised the Persian emperor but since he was being paid very well he made no dispute. He had heard stories of the horrors of the land war Persia was fighting against Sparta and Germany. Some say that men came back in earns due to being incinerated by German stormtroopers. Others tell of the horror that German Jaegers are hiding behind every tree, so amongst every forest you will always be looking over your shoulder for a glint of light bouncing of the scope with a Jaeger looking down it.
"Captain, we have just entered German waters." The first mate stated onboard Haddock's ship the Unicorn.
"Very good, keep an eye out for the German fleet." Haddock ordered, the sailour saluted and went away to attend to his duties. Haddock had noticed that only humans made up the crew of the Unicorn and the other persian ships, most likely due to Darrian's new laws that banned Faunus from all jobs and occupations except from manual labour. Haddock had heard rumours that alot of the Faunus and other races are fleeing Persia towards Germany, who have laws guranteeing rights and saftey of other races. As Persia is using most of their manpower in their army. Haddock spent a time feeling the ocean breeze on his face and flow through his hair. Until an untimely shout came from the crow's nest.
"Smoke! Smoke on the horizon captain!" The sailour shouted. Haddock's eyes jolted open he oberserved several smoke stacks northeast of the bow of the ship. Then another cry came. "Ship ahoy! Ship ahoy!" The sailour shouted again. It was a German Destroyer: Becker Class. Unlike the Leberech Mass class, the Becker class has less gun batteries but more torpedo launchers.
