"Tell me, how is my wife." Tran asked WIlhelm, they were both travelling by car to Omesos.
"Your wife is well, she is seing alot of success in the war." Wilhelm said. "I also want to thank you for helping the Shutzbereich to maintain control of the occupied territories."
"You quite welcome your majesty, it is the least I can do considering all that you've done for us." Tran said greatfully.
"I will do more for you if you choose to stay in Germany. I need people like you to run the country for me while I go eat and drink myself to death." Wilhelm joked, Tran insisted that Wilhelm did more than that and that he was more than happy to help. "Thanks, now as you know we're seiging Omesos and I think it would be useful to have your advise on the matter." Tran nodded and they continued driving towards the seige. Meanwhile inside the Capital, everyone was inside and the walls and gates were sealed; everyone was on high alert. Darrian was drinking some wine in his palace. He was still under the impression that he was untouchable behind the walls. No catapults could reach him and he knew that Germany had no dragons, wyverns weren't a threat. Then Na Borin hesitently came in.
"What is it now 'General'." Darrian said mockingly.
"Your majesty, the Germans have now surrounded us, there is no escape." Na said gravely.
"It is of no matter, I have decided I will be taking personal command of the defences. If I am now in charge of the army, it is only right that I take charge of the garrisson." Darrian said proudly. Na mouthed a 'what' in dumbfoundness facing the sheer stupidity of the decision, once again breaking her stern, calm and iron-willed stature. Darrian had never experienced combat before and was tactically inept. "There is nothing to worry about Na, I will succeed where you have failed." Darrian said confidently. Na then followed Darrian outside, accompanied by his bodyguard unit: the High Guard. They went up to the gate and Na insisted that Darrian should not go up but Darrian dismissed her claims as he wanted to see the enemy forces. He was shocked to see over a hundred thousand troops with horse, foot, artillery and armoured support. After stumbling he observed a light glint in the distance, he could faintly make out Kaiser Wilhelm with two women who were unkown to him: Freida and Reinhilde.
"I'll get you! You bast..." Darrian shouted out but was startled by a shot skimming by him. His high guards then pulled him back.
"Schiesse." The newly promoted Major Scharf said to himself, he nearly took out the Emperor. But at least he gave Darrian a scare, the mere thought of scaring the Persian Emperor put a smile on Scharf's face.
"There's Germans everywhere!" Darrian exclaimed. "We're completely surrounded!"
"Yes sir." Na said calmly.
"Borin! I command you to get your archers on the walls and start fireing!" Darrian shouted.
"Arrows will do nothing against them!" Na protested, but Darrian was having none of it and Na relented with a heavy sigh. No sooner than the archers took their positions a massive cluster of tanks and light artillery was positioned to counter them. The arrows pinged off the tanks like coins on a car, and the many cannons retaliated. Distributing limbs, blood, and screams across the wall. Na and the troops were horrified, Darrian was merely annoyed. He shouted derrogitary terms and shaked his fists in rage.
"All my soldiers are useless!" Darrian shouted and returned to his palace. The soldiers started to grit their teeth and whisper things about the Emperor that would make their mothers cry. 'The seeds of rebellion are growing', Na realised. On the other side of the wall Wilhelm was with the ranking officers.
"Tell me Tran," Wilhelm asked, "what was the purpose of that attack? The arrows could not peirce our panzer's armour?"
"It's just Darrian lashing out. I hear he's taken personal command of the army in the city." Tran stated. "When something goes wrong he often reacts in five stages: one is hit inital denial of he sriousness of the situation and arrogance that he can still succeed, second is his cowardice and self preservation where he hides behind other people and abuses his power which is probably the explanation for the attack. Third he'll blame, punihs, or torture people who he thinks as traitors as well as the common people, this is what I'm most afraid of as if the seige lasts too long he'll do worse things. Then he'll beg for mercy or betray his own to escape the situation, finally he'll have a final breakdown when all hope is lost."
