Panem Summer Camp *ON HOLD*

Chapter Eleven

CLOVE POV  - ͟͟͞☆

"Oh my gosh Glimmer," Clove sighed. "I can't believe you gave him my number!"

The two girls were walking down to the lake a little bit behind the rest of their cabin. They were all heading down to go canoeing and Clove was sure that would end great. Note the sarcasm.

"Hey, it can't be that bad," the blonde said, trying to be positive. 

"Can't be that bad? He has been spamming me with cat memes all day," Clove said, turning to Glimmer and showing her text conversation with Cato.

"Okay, okay. Sorry," Glimmer laughed. 

The two returned to a silence until they reached the lake which was shimmering against the sun.  Glimmer whispered something in Clove's ear.

"You and Cato would make a great couple though," she smirked. She had to dodge out of the way before Clove could punch her shoulder and they both ran to where their cabin was collecting.

"Welcome to the lake everyone!" Effie squealed. 

"Yay," Johanna said sarcastically. She received a glare from Effie before they moved on. 

"Everyone needs to find a partner, and there will be one group of three!" Effie continued. 

Everyone scrambled to grab partners. The final partnerships were; Madge and Annie, Finch and Katniss, and finally, Glimmer, Clove, and Johanna.

"Okay, now everyone grab a life jacket," Effie exclaimed, tossing a bunch of orange life vests in the air like they were confetti. The girls obliged and turned to Effie for their next instruction. 

Effie had them all get their respectful canoes into the water before explaining how to get in the canoes.

"Are you not canoeing?" Katniss asked.

"No, dear! Why would I be?!" their counselor asked as if it was the dumbest question someone could ask.

"Uh, maybe because you're the counselor?" Clove said in a duh sort of tone. 

"I think just you girls will be canoeing today, dears," Effie said. "Now, moving on!"

"What do you think would happen if we just pushed her into one of the canoes and just shipped her off?" Johanna muttered to Clove.

Clove tried to stifle her laugh with a cough.

Unfortunately, while they had been talking, Effie had finished teaching them how to get into their canoes so Johanna and Clove had no clue what to do.

"Can I just jump in?" Clove asked. 

"I mean, I think Effie could care less," Johanna said, shrugging. 

"Okay," Clove said. She then jumped into the canoe and somehow landed gracefully on her feet, rocking the canoe only slightly due to her small body weight. 

"Why weren't you two listening?" Glimmer said, shaking her head. She then got in properly besides Clove and then Johanna jumped in, making the canoe uneven.

It tipped to one side and Johanna tried to ride it like a surf board to steady it out.

Somehow, no one got the canoe tipped over and they all sat down, Glimmer in the front, Clove in the middle, and Johanna in the back.

Effie handed everyone paddles and Annie almost dropped hers in the water. Effie was muttering something about how fifteen year olds were incredibly difficult.

Finally, after almost and hour of Effie lecturing them on what to do if they tipped over or get stuck somewhere, the counselor let them go.

It took Clove, Glimmer, and Johanna about ten minutes to get situated because Glimmer kept splashing Clove when she paddled, Clove kept accidentally hitting Johanna with her paddle, and Johanna was complaining and refusing to cooperate. 

Somehow, the compromise was that Clove would be the only one paddling, Glimmer would be vlogging for some reason, and Johanna would be flipping off everyone that stared at them weirdly. 

They almost crashed into Finch and Katniss' canoe twice and Clove had some lucky saves with catching Glimmer's paddle when it fell when she was trying to get a better camera angle, but they eventually got the hang of it and made it to the middle of the lake.

That was when all chaos broke loose.

Since Clove was doing all the work, she eventually got more and more tired and got lazier with her paddles. One hand slipped up and knocked Glimmer's phone out of her hand and into the water.

"NOOOOO!!!!" Glimmer screeched.

"Glimmer don't grab-" Clove started. But it was too late.

Glimmer lunged for her phone, making the weight on the canoe uneven and they flipped over and into the freezing cold water.

They all resurfaced at the same time and Clove had to hold Johanna back so she would stop lunging at Glimmer. 

Glimmer began diving down and resurfacing constantly, trying to look for her phone in the dark lake. 

Johanna eventually gave up at trying to murder Glimmer and resided to doing a back float until someone got help.

Clove was once again, the only one doing the work and kept trying to flip the canoe over but was failing. 

She let out a sigh and did a quick 360 to see where the others were.

Fortunately, Annie and Madge had watched the girls flip over and were coming to their rescue. Unfortunately, there was only three per boat.

When Annie and Madge arrived, paddling in perfectly in sync, Clove sent Glimmer to go with the two since Clove and Johanna were stronger swimmers. 

Glimmer had started crying because she had dropped her phone and Annie and Madge were trying to comfort her as they paddled away.

"Gosh Glimmer shouldn't have even had her phone," Johanna muttered in annoyance. Clove nodded in agreement and the two started their swim back to the dock.

Effie got Johanna, Glimmer, and Clove wrapped up in towels when they returned to the dock, after scolding them about not following the directions. 

The three girls walked back to the cabin to change into dry outfits when they suddenly ran into two blonde boys.

"Guess who got all of that on video?!?!?" Cato and Finnick said in sync. 

Clove groaned and facepalmed along with Johanna. 

Glimmer only asked "How did my hair look?"

⋆⭒˚.⋆ SOPHIA SPEAKS ⋆⭒˚.⋆ Aloha my spectacular pookies :D Here, I give you, another chapter. I think I will update one of two more tonight if I feel like it, so you can look forward to that. I feel like all of my friends are going on vacation somewhere so I have no one to talk to. Everyone is just going places and all I'm doing is writing more chapters lol. How is everyone liking it so far??? Feel free to comment any suggestions you have or mistakes I made while writing because I absolutely suck at typing LOL. Buh bye for now :)
