CLOVE POV  - ͟͟͞☆

"A bonfire," Clove said, staring blankly at their pink haired counselor. "You're joking."

"No, dear," Effie said, patting the shorter girl's head in what was supposed to be a sympathetic manner. Clove didn't think so.

"I am not going," Clove insisted. She wanted to throw her phone as hard as she could at the wall but decided against it due to the fact that her phone was her life line.

"Neither am I," Johanna said from where she was hanging off of her bunk.

"Girls," Effie said. "You have to, it's mandatory."

"Well, I'm sick," Clove said, giving the fakest cough known to man.

"There will be s'mores!" Effie tried. That got the attention of everyone in the cabin and in a matter of seconds the girls were headed out the cabin door.

The journey towards the place the bonfire was to be held was more eventful than anyone thought a five minute journey could get.

It all started when the boy from Cabin 33, the one Johanna had been bullying earlier that week, stuck his big fat foot out and tripped Glimmer "accidentally" and she went flying towards the dirt path.

She face planted and just lied there for a second. The boy was hiding a laugh but one death glare from Jo shut him up real quick.

Annie and Madge helped Glimmer up and she quickly told the boy it was fine and she knew he didn't mean to. Johanna on the other hand, went at him.

The girl with the choppy dyed hair leapt from her spot next to Clove and tackled the boy as if they were playing football (A/N: American football idk if I need to make that clear)

It took all of Cabin 29 to pull her off of him and when they did, his face looked beat up, his glasses were broken and he had a bloody nose.

"Geez, Jo!" Katniss said, saying what they were all thinking.

Somehow, Effie had vanished out of thin air and after the girls left the boy to lie there in the grass, they continued the way they were supposed to (Annie was the only one who remembered the path from the first day campfire).

Then it somehow got even worse.

When they were passing by the lake, Finch, with her nose in a book, wasn't watching where she was going and started veering towards the water.

Clove saw this at the last moment and managed to grab onto her before she fell. But then Finch pulled them both into the lake (Don't worry, Finch managed to throw her book before it got wet).

Clove resurfaced to laughter coming from the shore and turned to glare at the fifteen year olds laughing their heads off.

She swam with Finch to the shore and flipped off Johanna when the girl asked how her swim was.

Thankfully, Madge was able to produce a towel out of nowhere and the two girls took turns drying themselves off.

*********

As the wind delivered a sudden breeze, Clove shivered from her spot on the log next to Glimmer and Finch. She was still cold from her lovely dip in the lake and had been muttering curse words under her breath the whole night.

She suddenly felt the soft fabric of a jacket wrapping around her. Wait what? Clove hadn't brought a jacket.

The dark haired girl looked down to realize it wasn't her jacket at all. Confused, she looked to Finch and Glimmer but Finch was too busy flipping the page of her book every minute or so and Glimmer was making a TikTok.

She then looked behind her and her eyes found the blue ones of Cato. He was smirking at her from where he was sitting on the log behind her.

"Uh, thanks I guess?" Clove said, eyeing the boy suspiciously. This had to come with a cost.

"No problem, Clover," the blonde boy smirked.

"Just for the use of that nickname, I'm not giving you back your jacket," Clove replied.

"Looks better on you anyways Cloverfield," Cato said. All Clove could hope was that the darkness would cover he slight blush.

"Boy, shut up," Clove said, before turning back around to face Snow who had taken his position in front of the camp fire.

"What if I just stood up and pushed him in the fire?" Clove heard Finch whisper to her. Of all people, Clove thought Finch would be one of the least likely to say that. She responded with a slight laugh before turning her attention to the man with the snow colored hair.

"Welcome to another bonfire," he said. The head counselor was met with a chorus of cheers from the children. "The kitchen staff has prepared graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmallows if you are interested in making a s'more." More cheers. "Otherwise, you can head back to your cabins whenever, just be back by curfew. Enjoy!"

Snow left and everyone stampeded towards the s'mores supplies.

After successfully not setting her marshmallow aflame like Katniss did, and not burning it to a crisp like Gale, Clove sat down on an empty log to enjoy her s'more since she couldn't locate any of her cabin mates in the mess.

Of course the absence of people around her was destroyed by a certain blonde haired, blue eyed idiot.

"What's good, Clover?" Cato asked, sliding next to her on the log. Clove made big show of scooting farther down before answering him.

"What do you want?" she deadpanned.

"Do I have to want something?" Cato said, smiling.

"Yes," Clove responded, taking a bite of her s'more.

The next thing she knew, Cato was reaching out to wipe of some marshmallow that had stuck to her lip. Her instincts finally decided to pull through and she bit the boy's finger.

"OW!!!!" he cried, earning some weird looks from some near by 13 year olds. "WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!?!!?!?!?!?!?"

"Boy, honestly," the shorter girl said, rolling her dark eyes and wiping the marshmallow off with her own hand.

"Now I'm gonna have rabies," he complained.

"Shut up," Clove said, laughing softly. Until curfew, the two bullied and annoyed each other and as much as Clove hated to admit it, Cato was fun to hang out with.

Somewhere inside of Clove's stomach was a feeling she had never experienced before. She couldn't tell you what it felt like or what it was but it was towards Cato. And in that case, she didn't want to find out.

Unknown to the two fifteen year olds, Peeta sat behind them, taking photos of the two of them so he could do a dump on Instagram for his Clato fan account with Katniss.

That night, Annie and Madge vowed to get both blonde haired boys together with their dark haired girl by the end of the summer.
