Sans didn't mean it. They're just a kid, a curious one. But still, he couldn't put his machine in jeopardy and he had to divert the attention somehow. Even still, he knew it would only give him minutes at best. He was already at the lab, and no one should know where he was. And yet, somehow, Frisk knew about everything?
Connected to the VOID.
They said.
The dangerous one.
What dangerous one?
Suddenly, as Sans thought through the events that unfolded moments ago, things made less and less sense. In his sleepiness, he hardly understood it until his own panic heightened his senses.
And now that he thought about it a little harder, since when did Frisk talk like that? So...violent, uncaring even.
Whatever.
All these thoughts are just distractions. It doesn't matter how un-sanslike I act. For now, everything stays at a standstill.
or a sanstill maybe. Heh.
I've got to focus on the task at hand. I've got time, and yet I guess I have to rush. No one should find me here for a very long time, and even if they do somehow find this place, it's not like they've got a key in.
Now that Sans thought about it, where did he put the key? He hadn't used it in a while, with shortcuts and all. And if someone did use that key to get in, for instance, Frisk, he always left the secondary side shut, right?
With shortcuts and all...
Whatever.
Finish the machine. One goal. Doesn't matter what others think about it. Finish the machine. That'll prove them all wrong.
Sans placed his book down.

"I thought we were friends, Frisk." And he was gone.
Pain. For a brief moment, only pain. Then, as quickly as it went, it subsided.
It wasn't physical pain, and yet it hurt. Did he really mean it?
Frisk had to stay strong and of course, determined. They shrugged it off. Maybe people talked around them. Maybe someone tried to stop them, or talk to them. But they were already out the door and running towards the forest before they could actually realise it.
They knew where they needed to be and no one should have followed them.
Meanwhile, inside the house, there was mass commotion. About Sans, Frisk and a mystery machine?
"G-guys." Alphys tried to speak up over the sea of words. Undyne noticed and quickly shouted "GUYS!". That got everyone's attention.
"Um, well. Frisk mentioned the VOID. A place outside space and time. And something trying to communicate to it would be really d-dangerous." Alphys attempted to share what she thought she understood. "H-hence Frisk's worry, I t-think."
For a moment, everyone tried to process the words being thrown around.
"What is Sans doing?" Papyrus asked the biggest question outloud.
"I feel like there's more to this." Asgore broke the momentary silence with his voice that echoed authority. "Frisk came up to me yesterday, asking about Royal Scientists."
