Out of pure habit, Sans found himself crashing down onto his own couch. For a moment, he felt entirely at ease. Until that moment ended and two other figures began to fall right on top of him. Luckily, he was aware enough to move enough to not be entirely crushed. Instead, only a slither of his jacket was caught in the pile.

Undyne was the first to climb away from the couch. She dived onto the floor and, in one movement, leapt up into the sky and stuck the landing. Now standing right besides Sans, she stared him down.

"You have LOTS to talk about." Her voice sounded like a roar. Sans just closed his eyes, wondering what the next logical play was. Fortunately, he didn't have to make a move as a distraction came from elsewhere.

"Wow! Brother, you invited Undyne over?" Papyrus leapt out of his room, diving past the stairs and landing with a roll, popping back up besides Sans, looking at him and Undyne.

It was quite a common practise for Papyrus to enter a room in such a fashion. Sans noticed the similarities in the two monsters antics.

Of course he learnt it from her.

Papyrus then noticed the small figure on the couch, now sitting up and silently observing the scene layed out infront of them.

"And Frisk? Wowie, this could be a party! ...another one!" Papyrus let out a nervous chuckle at his own words. The silence hanged for a moment. Papyrus now noticed the expressions on everyone's face. Anger, fear, confusion and a hint of dread.

"W-what happened?" Papyrus caved in, his persona fading and leaking out was his own fear. A trait rarely seen from Papyrus. Undyne broke the sharp, menacing glare she held between her and Sans, now tending to Papyrus.

"H-hey, listen. We will all get some answers soon, I'm sure we have nothing to worry about." Undyne rested a hand on his shoulder, making Papyrus look up slightly.

"Alright, if you're sure. After all, I am the Great Papyrus. With our combined efforts, we can overcome any hurdle." He spoke like himself, but lacked the oomph that normally surrounding him. Undyne smiled nevertheless.

"hey, Frisk." Sans gained the attention of the human child. They looked up, away from the ground and broke away from the daydreaming. "lemme have a quick talk with you." Sans's eyes gestured towards his room. Frisk, having dealt with him for a year, understood the request. They jumped of the couch and took his hand. In a blink, they found themselves in his room.

"The stairs were too much?" Frisk asked, believing that a hint of humour would ease the tension surrounding the entire house.

"nah, just didn't want the others asking questions." Sans sighed, leaning on the doorframe. Frisk decided to awkwardly lean on the treadmill, now residing directly besides the trash...hurricane?

"yeah, like the new design? now, if anyone calls me and i don't want to answer, i can jump in that thing and say im in a hurri." Sans chuckled at his own joke, one that was as bad as the rest of his arsenal.

"You put the trash tornado in an inflatable swimming pool for a joke setup?" Frisk tried to make sense of the new addition to the room.

"oh, nah. it's also a reminder to tread lightly in that corner." Sans pointed to the treadmill. Frisk didn't laugh.

"You would tread lightly on this thing either way." Frisk gave it a slight push for emphasis. Sans laughed lightly. It only took seconds for him to go silent again. The joking was fun, but the tension was thick.

"if only i brought you up here to joke." Sans sighed once more. Frisk tensed up. "we, both of us, are in this for the long run." Sans didn't seem too pleased about it.
