"Urghh," Gulf slowly opened his eyes. He tried to sit up but felt too weak. After several attempts, he managed to prop himself up and looked around, trying to figure out where he was.
The door opened, and a man entered with a tray of food. He smiled at Gulf, who was shocked to see him. The last time Gulf had seen this man, he had been the happiest he'd ever been.
"Finally, you're awake. The doctor said you were malnourished and dehydrated. You need to take better care of yourself, Gulf," the man said as he placed the tray on the bedside table.
"Por..." Gulf tried to greet him properly but was too weak.
"Don't force yourself. You were lucky I found you when you fainted. If it had been someone else, you might have been in danger," the man said warmly.
"Por... What are you doing here?" Gulf asked, searching for someone he hoped he wouldn't have to see.
"If you're looking for Ja, don't worry. He's still in Thailand. I came here on a business trip and unexpectedly ran into you," the man explained. Gulf nodded, feeling awkward after everything that had happened with Ja.
"Thank you, Por, for helping me," Gulf said, looking up at the man, who smiled warmly.
"It's the least I can do after what happened. Don't worry; even I know it was my stupid son's fault, so I apologize on his behalf," Ja's father said, bowing slightly as a sign of apology.
Gulf quickly shook his head, insisting that it wasn't entirely Ja's fault. He felt he had been a burden, which made Ja tired of their relationship. Tears streamed down Gulf's face as he recalled the painful night. Suddenly, Ja's father pulled him into an embrace.
"It was never your fault, Gulf. You've done your best. If it were someone else, they would shower you with the love you deserve," the older man said, trying to comfort him. Gulf was touched by his words and cried harder.
After a few minutes, Gulf stopped crying, and the older man released him. He told Gulf to eat the food and said he would be outside if needed. He also mentioned that he had called Bright earlier. Gulf nodded and attempted to eat a few bites as instructed.
Ja's father came to gave Gulf a cup of milk after his meal when he saw Gulf was daydreaming. He have leftovers but he can see Gulf ate fews bites.
"What are you thinking?" Gulf looked up and saw the man crossed his arms.
"It's nothing, Por. I just..." Gulf bit his lower lip.
"You were thinking about Ja again, weren't you?" The older man sat at the edge of the bed. Gulf tried to come up with excuses but eventually nodded weakly.
Thinking about their memories, Gulf realized they held a special place in his heart. Gulf tried so hard to keep the relationship stable but it was unstable from the beginning. Gulf's tears fell uncontrollably. Ja's father sighed at the sight of Gulf's tears, took Gulf's food, and set it on the table. He then held Gulf's hands to comfort him.
"Gulf, I know I'm not the best person to give you advice, but you need to move on. You deserve someone who will love you wholeheartedly, someone who cherishes you, thinks about you constantly, and never wants to see you cry. Find someone who can't bear to be away from you, someone who will defend you, never leave you alone, and who would give you the world if you asked for it," The man said, looking directly into Gulf's eyes, offering genuine advice.
Gulf remained silent. How could he move on when Ja was the only person he had ever loved? Every happy memory he had included Ja. Gulf had told him that he loved Ja with all his heart and believed they were true soulmates.
"When someone doesn't treat you the way you treat them, it means they don't feel the same way. If the relationship is one-sided, you'll never understand the true meaning of love. I'm sure that one day you'll meet someone who loves you dearly and is just waiting for you to notice them," The man said with a warm smile. Gulf was not only mesmerized by his smile but also touched by his words.
"Thank you, Por," Gulf said with a small smile.
"Maybe you can start by stop calling me Por," The man smiled.
"Okay, sir," Gulf replied. Ja's father was expecting something else but only sighed. He then instruct Gulf to took a rest.
"Gulf!" Bright appeared, looking worried. Fortunately, his meeting had ended when he received the call, and he flew over to Gulf immediately. Bright checked for injuries, but Gulf assured him he was fine. Bright then gave Gulf a scolding, which he received with a wide smile.
"You can scold him after he's well, Bright," Ja's father said with a smile.
"P, thank God you were here to help Gulf," Bright said, crossing his arms. Gulf looked confused when he saw Bright addressing Ja's father as "P."
"How do you know him, Bright?" Gulf asked, tilting his head in confusion.
"Of course, I know him. He's one of the biggest investors in my company, Kao Nattawut," Bright explained.
