Kao sat there, staring at the boy. He had grown up, but his smile was still bright. He had even become more handsome. However, Kao reminded himself that he should not dwell on the boy, as he was his son's boyfriend.

"Do you need anything, P?" Ja asked, holding Gulf's hand while Kao focused on their interaction. He could feel his heart clench.

"I'm fine, Ja," Gulf replied with a bright smile, causing Kao's breath to hitch.

They talked for a while, and Kao deliberately exposed his bracelet. Gulf noticed it and smiled.

"That's a beautiful bracelet, Sir. Where did you get it?" Gulf asked politely. Kao was surprised to learn that Gulf didn't remember anything about the bracelet.

"Someone gave it to me," Kao said, caressing the bracelet. They continued their conversation, but Kao soon decided he couldn't take it anymore and excused himself.

In his room, Kao finally let a tear fall down his cheek. Despite finally seeing someone he had long searched for, he felt no relief. Why was he so upset that Gulf was Ja's boyfriend? Was it...

"No! You can't, Kao! He's nine years younger than you and your son's boyfriend!" Kao leaned back in his chair, frustrated with himself.

He looked at his bracelet, holding it tightly before removing it from his wrist. Since the adoption, he had never taken it off, but now he had to.

"Gulf will be happier with Ja," Kao thought, feeling his heart ache. But he knew his son would make Gulf the happiest person in the world.

His search was over.

------

Kao was eating breakfast when he noticed Ja hadn't touched his food and was busy texting.

"You can text your boyfriend later; eat first," Kao commented. Ja had moved in with Gulf but would sometimes visit.

Whenever Ja visited, he would excitedly talk about Gulf's favorites and their week together. Kao appeared to listen nonchalantly, but Ja never knew that Kao meticulously recorded details about Gulf in his notebook.

"Yes, Por," Ja said, putting his phone down. Kao noticed it was a different phone from last week. When asked, Ja explained it was a business phone.

Kao realized that recently, Ja rarely talked about Gulf. He only mentioned him occasionally, which was unusual after three years of dating.

"I should go, Por. It's a busy day. Let me just grab some documents," Ja said, quickly heading to his room. A notification appeared on the phone, and Kao saw the name "First."

Kao furrowed his brow. Something was definitely wrong.

------

Kao was reviewing pictures sent by his assistant. Ever since seeing the name on Ja's phone, he wanted everything to be okay for Gulf.

"Still as pretty as ever," Kao smiled, looking at Gulf's bright smile. He would do anything to protect that smile but knew he had no right to intervene.

Kao had asked his assistant to follow Gulf for a month, but seeing nothing alarming, he decided he must be paranoid and stopped the surveillance.

------

In the morning, Kao called Ja to ask if he would be back that day. Ja explained that he and Gulf had a fight the previous day and went on to describe what happened.

"Ja, you shouldn't have done that. Gulf is not that kind of person. He loves you, and you know it," Kao scolded his son sternly.

"I know, Por, but I'm not the only one at fault here. He shouldn't have reacted like that," Ja tried to explain his side.

"This problem is entirely your fault. You need to make it up to Gulf. Take him out for a date after school; he might appreciate it," Kao said, offering to make a reservation at their favorite restaurant.

------

Kao had just finished work when he received a call from the restaurant saying that no one had shown up yet. Kao immediately called Ja, but the call went unanswered.

"Where is he?" Kao asked his assistant to search for Ja. With the growing darkness, Kao had a bad feeling. He quickly changed into his hoodie and went to his car.

"Remember, Kao, you're doing this because you're worried about your son, not anyone else," Kao reassured himself.

Driving to Gulf's school, Kao heard a loud commotion and rushed to the scene. Seeing Gulf on the ground was frightening, but he was relieved nothing severe had happened yet. Kao wanted to comfort Gulf but realized he might be overstepping.

"You should call your friend. It's dangerous here," Kao said, trying to keep his voice low but failing. He waited until Bright's car arrived before leaving the scene.

------

Kao scolded Ja for not paying attention to Gulf. Ja promised he would take Gulf on another date that day. Kao was skeptical, so he asked his assistant to keep an eye on Ja.

While out on the outskirts, Kao received a call from his assistant about an incident involving Ja and an intern at the office. However, all Kao could think about was Gulf. Where could he be?

"He must be at school!" Kao thought, immediately leaving the meeting to check on Gulf.

It was dark and raining heavily when Kao arrived and was shocked to see someone holding Gulf's hand.

"Hey! Let him go!" Kao shouted, rushing towards the man and punching him before the man ran away. Kao turned around and saw Gulf on the ground. He quickly picked him up.

"Gulf? Stay with me, dear," Kao said, holding Gulf tightly.
