Gulf smiled when he looked to his right at a man who couldn't stop smiling either. They walked around before heading back after dining together.

"I was upset when you thought I was going on a blind date despite my constant expressions of love, but now that you're mine, everything is resolved," Kao said with a bright smile.

"Well, to defend myself, you never really told me you loved me. The words I heard before were 'I like you,' not 'I love you,'" Gulf shrugged, making Kao gasp.

"After all I have done for you, you still never saw it?" Kao raised an eyebrow, but Gulf only shrugged.

When Gulf walked forward, Kao grabbed his hand, making Gulf turn around. Kao then moved closer, making the younger man flustered by their proximity.

"I've loved you for so long that even when we're apart, my heart feels like it's right next to yours." Kao held Gulf's waist, maintaining eye contact.

Gulf was surprised and touched by the confession. He hadn’t expected Kao to confess right there, and the words struck him deeply. He knew at that moment that he had chosen the right person.

"I love you too," Gulf said, his eyes teary but managing to say those four words before the tears fell.

Kao smiled brightly upon hearing Gulf's words, cupping his face and kissing his forehead. He then took Gulf’s hands and interlaced their fingers.

"You've said it, no take-backs, okay?" Kao said while walking.

Gulf smiled at how Kao could be so childlike and nodded. He said it and he wouldn't take it back. They walked around until it was time for Gulf to return.

"Thank you for today," Gulf said before turning to go home.

However, when he started to walk away, Kao didn't let go of his hand and pouted. Gulf tried to pull his hand away, but Kao shook his head and stayed put.

"P'Kao, I need to go home," Gulf said firmly, though he was smiling.

"Hmmm," Kao only nodded but still didn't let go of their hands.

"P'Kao," Gulf said again, but Kao continued to pout.

"I don't want you to leave," Kao said, pouting.

Gulf chuckled at how a mature man could suddenly seem like a child not wanting him to leave. He thought for a moment and then had an idea.

"I will see you tomorrow, P'Kao," Gulf said as he stepped forward and kissed Kao on the cheek, surprising the older man.

Kao was so shocked that he let go of Gulf's hand and cupped his own cheek. Gulf then quickly said his goodbyes and left.

"You—" Kao tried to call after him, but Gulf had already gone inside.

------

Kao arrived home, smiling while holding his cheek.

"I won't wash my face tonight," Kao chuckled as he went inside.

"Dad," a voice came from behind, making Kao stop.

Kao turned around and saw Ja. He suddenly remembered what happened earlier and wanted to clarify things.

"Ja, you shouldn't interfere with things between me and Gulf," Kao said firmly, his smile gone.

"What thing, Dad? Everyone knows you shouldn't be involved with your son's ex-boyfriend," Ja said, frustrated.

"That's the past. I don't care who he was with before. All I care about is that we both love each other," Kao tried to calm himself.

"How could you, Dad? You know I still love P'Gulf!" Ja raised his voice.

"Love? If you loved him, you wouldn't have cheated on him, abandoned him, and made him end up in the hospital multiple times, not to mention having an affair on your anniversary!" Kao clenched his fist, struggling not to punch his son.

"That's not—" Ja tried to defend himself, but Kao cut him off.

"I told you before, right? Don't regret it when he leaves you for good. Now, he has moved on, and you should too," Kao said, turning away.

"I can't, Dad. I'll confess to him again. Maybe he still loves me. He saw something in you that look just like me that’s why he loves you," Ja's words made Kao stop and turn around.

Suddenly, Kao moved closer to Ja and grabbed his shoulder tightly, making Ja grimace.

"I don't care if you hurt me, Ja. Because you are my son and I will forgive you no matter what. BUT if you lay a hand on MY BOYFRIEND again, you are not my son anymore," Kao said, making Ja’s eyes widen in shock. He was surprised that Kao would disown him just like his parents had before.

"You... You will leave me too, Dad? Just because of P'Gulf?" Ja stared into his father's eyes, not believing what he had just heard.

"Remember when you burned the bracelet on the first day we met? I could forgive you then, even though it was something precious to me. But Gulf is much more than that. He is above everything, including you, Ja. If you don’t stop chasing after Gulf, you should stop calling me Dad," Kao said, turning around and leaving Ja behind.

Ja collapsed when he heard those words. Memories from the past came rushing back, of when his parents had left him because he was a burden. Ja then remembered why Kao had changed.

"P'Gulf, if I can't be happy, you can't be happy either."

------

Kao went to the university excitedly. He smiled throughout the ride, eager to meet Gulf. He wanted to drive Gulf to the university, but the younger man insisted on going in their own vehicles.

Kao had just parked his car when he received a call from his assistant.

"Sir, Gulf was in an accident."
