Gulf was on his way to the office when someone approached from behind.

"Are you done?" Kao appeared with the gentle smile he used to wear.

Gulf blushed at the sight of Kao's mesmerizing smile and nodded.

"Do you want to have lunch together?" Kao asked, stopping as they arrived at Gulf’s office.

Gulf bit his lower lip and nodded. Kao beamed, delighted by Gulf's shy response. He then went to fetch his car while Gulf organized his things in the office. As Gulf settled in, he felt his cheeks flush as he recalled the events from yesterday.

———

"You... you like me?" Gulf gulped, realizing that Kao's gestures weren’t merely acts of sympathy. There had to be something deeper motivating him.

Kao was surprised by Gulf’s realization. He had expected to wait longer for Gulf to understand but was relieved that it happened sooner. However, today wasn’t the right time to discuss it, especially since Gulf was still upset over his son.

"I... I can't say it right now," Kao said, biting his lower lip in frustration.

Seeing Kao’s hesitation, Gulf felt a pang of hurt. He nodded and turned away, his disappointment clear. Kao felt a surge of regret seeing Gulf’s expression and cursed himself for disappointing him.

"I like you!" Kao suddenly declared, causing Gulf to stop and his teary eyes to widen.

Kao moved closer and gasped upon seeing Gulf’s tears. He cursed himself again while gently wiping them away, vowing not to make Gulf cry.

"I can’t fully express my feelings right now because you’re still uncertain. You see me as your ex-boyfriend’s father and I am nine years older than you. Until you’re confident in your feelings and yourself, I won’t force my feelings on you. All I can do is stay by your side until you come to me on your own," Kao said, cupping Gulf’s cheeks.

Kao’s eyes were sincere and his smile gentle. Gulf understood Kao’s words completely. Kao began to excuse himself, but Gulf held his hand.

"I..." Gulf struggled to express his feelings. He was comfortable with Kao but wasn’t sure of his own emotions yet. Nonetheless, he didn’t want Kao to stay away.

Kao saw Gulf’s conflicted expression and responded with a gentle smile. He kissed Gulf’s forehead as reassurance.

"Take your time, dear. I’ll wait as long as you need."

———

Since that day, Kao had consistently brought Gulf to lunch and they had dinner together at Gulf’s penthouse. Kao never forced any physical affection but always teased Gulf, making him blush every day. It became their routine.

"Thank you, Sir," Gulf nodded to his students. It was finally Friday, and with two days off, Gulf planned to stay at home. However, a trip might be nice as a self reward.

Gulf was browsing resort websites when he bumped into someone. Two hands quickly wrapped around his waist, steadying him.

"Is this the moment when you finally come into my arms?" Gulf looked up and saw Kao with his teasing smile. Blushing, Gulf pulled away.

"You can stay longer, you know," Kao continued his teasing, making Gulf blush even harder. Gulf walked away from Kao’s teasing, causing the older man to chuckle.

"Okay, okay. I won’t tease you anymore," Kao said with a smile.

Gulf nodded and warned Kao not to tease him too much. Kao replied that he couldn’t promise that. Then, noticing Gulf’s phone, Kao saw the resort website he was looking at.

"Want to go on a trip? I know of a great resort where we can relax," Kao offered.

"It’s yours, isn’t it?" Gulf asked, recalling Bright mentioning Kao’s resort. Kao smiled awkwardly.

"If you give me a good discount, I might go," Gulf said.

"Discount? Everything is free for you, dear," Kao smiled.

Gulf initially thought Kao was teasing but saw the sincerity in his smile, making his heart race.

———

Gulf accepted Kao’s offer and was shopping for items to bring to the resort when someone called his name.

"P'Gulf?" Gulf turned around to see Ja standing there.

Gulf quickly left the store and headed toward the parking lot, but Ja blocked his path.

"P, why are you avoiding me?" Ja pouted, hoping to soften Gulf’s resolve.

"You should know the answer," Gulf said, trying to pass Ja. Ja grabbed his wrist.

"P, talk to me, please. Let’s resolve this," Ja begged, his eyes filling with tears.

"What’s there to resolve? We’re done, and that’s final. I don’t want anything to do with you anymore," Gulf said, pulling his hand away. He tried to leave, but Ja stepped in his way.

"You don’t want anything to do with me because you want my father, right?" Ja’s words made Gulf stop and turn back.

"You—" Gulf began to argue, but Ja cut him off.

"I know everything, P. I followed you from the moment you arrived in this country. You’re trying to seduce my father, who is richer and older than me. All of this is to get back at me, isn’t it? Now that I’m here, you can stop pursuing my father and come to me instead." Ja reached out for Gulf's hand but Gulf pulled his hand away from Ja.

"You’re wrong, Ja. As much as I hate you, I would never try to get back at you. I’m done associating myself with you," Gulf defended himself.

Ja started to chuckle, which soon turned into a big laugh.

"So, you’re saying you like my dad? Listen, P. My dad doesn’t love you the way you think. I am the only one who genuinely loves you"
