Gulf woke up slowly, feeling better than he had the previous day. He was roused by the sound of people talking. As he turned to the side, he noticed Kao on the phone, still holding Gulf's hand. Realizing Gulf was awake, Kao quickly ended the call.

"You finally woke up. Are you in any pain?" Kao gently stroked Gulf's hair, trying to comfort him.

Gulf shook his head and offered a small smile. Kao sighed in relief at seeing that Gulf wasn't in any pain.

"Did you stay here all night?" Gulf asked softly, noticing that Kao was still wearing yesterday's clothes.

"You asked me to stay by your side, didn't you?" Kao replied with a smile, holding Gulf's hand tightly.

Gulf nodded, feeling a bit happy that Kao had kept his promise. He began to realize that his previous actions might have been harsh, especially given Kao's gentle treatment.

"I'm sorry..." Gulf said slowly, making Kao raise an eyebrow.

"I'm sorry for treating you badly all this time. It's just..." Gulf trailed off, unable to continue. He had been so determined to distance himself from Ja that he had forgotten Kao was not the same person.

"You don't have to apologize. You did what you thought was right. I know you didn't intend to be hurtful," Kao said, caressing Gulf's knuckles, causing his heart to race.

Gulf smiled, recognizing the clear differences between Kao and Ja. Kao's gentleness made him want to cry again, but he wondered if he deserved this kind of treatment.

"Thank you, Khun," Gulf said brightly, surprising Kao.

Kao smiled broadly, touched to see Gulf's smile directed at him and to hear him call him Khun again. He wanted to cry but held back his tears, not wanting Gulf to see him as weak.

After finishing his class, Gulf was preparing for his next one when he heard a knock. He looked up and stood with a smile.

"Bright!" Gulf exclaimed as he went to Bright and hugged him.

"I've missed you, Gulf," Bright said, returning the hug. He then suggested they go to lunch together.

Bright took Gulf to a restaurant to catch up.

"You should have called me that day, Gulf. I would have come back immediately after my meeting," Bright chided, referring to Gulf's recent illness and hospitalization.

"It's fine, Bright. I can take care of myself," Gulf said, taking a bite of his food.

"Take care of yourself? Gulf, you know you wouldn't go to the hospital alone. Tell me, who sent you there?" Bright asked, raising an eyebrow. He knew his friend wouldn't go to the hospital by himself.

"No one!" Gulf tried to sound casual, but Bright's expression told him otherwise.

"Fine. It was Khun Kao who sent me there," Gulf admitted with a sigh, unable to hide the truth from Bright.

"Thank God he was there with you," Bright said, smiling as he continued eating. Gulf furrowed his brow, wondering why Bright didn't ask more questions.

"Is that it?" Gulf asked, feeling like something was missing.

"What?" Bright asked, sipping his drink. Then it clicked, and Bright sighed.

"Gulf, if it's P'Kao, I have nothing to worry about. He's helped you before, hasn't he?" Bright explained.

Gulf nodded. Bright was right—Kao had helped him many times, even though he had pushed him away.

"Gulf, if you're still unsure about Kao, remember that Kao and Ja are not the same person," Bright reassured him. He knew Gulf, despite his fierce appearance, was still soft inside.

Gulf understood what Bright meant and resolved to try to make things right.

———

It was the weekend, and Gulf decided to go shopping. As he went downstairs, he saw Kao leaning against his car with his arms crossed.

"What are you doing here, Khun?" Gulf asked, looking around to see if anyone else was around.

"I'm waiting for you. I had a feeling you'd be going to the mall today, and I was right," Kao said with a smile.

"But what if I hadn't planned to go to the mall?" Gulf raised an eyebrow.

"Then I'd just wait here until the end of the day," Kao shrugged, as if it were no trouble at all.

"That's crazy. You should have called me or something," Gulf said, imagining Kao waiting for him all day.

"Does that mean I can call you anytime?" Kao teased with a smile. Gulf realized his mistake and cursed inwardly.

Kao chuckled at Gulf's blush. Despite the younger's appearance, Kao thought his blushing was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen.

"Shall we?" Kao opened the car door and offered Gulf a ride to the mall.

Gulf wanted to refuse but remembered Bright's advice and nodded. Maybe it wasn't such a bad idea to be friends with Kao.

Kao was thrilled as Gulf got into the car. He jumped into the driver's seat, trying to contain his excitement.

———

"Where should we start?" Kao asked eagerly.

"I actually wanted to go to the salon," Gulf said, looking around for one.

"Why?" Kao tilted his head.

"Because I want to cut my hair. It's getting long," Gulf said, ruffling his hair. He also planned to dye the roots again.

"I prefer your black hair," Kao said suddenly. Gulf stopped and looked at Kao, surprised.

Kao quickly realized he had spoken his thoughts aloud and closed his mouth. Gulf chuckled at Kao's reaction.

"Maybe I'll dye it back to black once I find the right person for me"
