Gulf had just finished his lunch when the doctor came to announce that he could be discharged in two days. Gulf smiled, missing his home, even though he would never see it again.
"Did you hear that, Bright? I can finally go home," Gulf said, looking to the side.
"Yes, Gulf. It's good to know," Bright said, patting Gulf's shoulder.
Bright had visited Gulf during lunch and chose not to mention that Kao had been there the whole time.
"Are you going back after this?" Gulf asked, smiling.
"Yes, I have a meeting after this. I’ll come back once I finish my work," Bright said, ruffling Gulf’s hair and making him chuckle.
Bright waved at Kao silently before leaving, smiling at Kao’s assistant who was outside the room.
Kao sat quietly, watching Gulf intently. He couldn't get enough of seeing the love of his life. Gulf reached for the jug, and Kao quickly moved to stop him but then he stopped himself as he remembered that Bright had left, Kao realized that Gulf was reaching for a jug of hot water. He swiftly removed the jug from Gulf’s reach. Gulf successfully grabbed the warm water, drank it, and set the cup back, spilling some water on the lip. Kao restrained himself from revealing his presence.
"Where is your handkerchief?" Gulf asked, placing his hand in front of Kao. Kao was shocked but thought it was just a test, so he remained silent.
"P'Kao... Handkerchief," Gulf repeated, making Kao even more shocked. Kao slowly placed his handkerchief in Gulf's palm.
Gulf smiled, wiped his mouth, and handed the handkerchief back to Kao.
"You... You knew I was here?" Kao finally found his voice.
"You really think I’m stupid, P?" Gulf said, crossing his arms.
"But—"
"You disguised yourself as Bright, but the Bright I know never stayed with me all the time because he prioritizes his work over me. Bright also never patted my hand but always my shoulder. Bright wouldn’t know when I’m hungry or what my favorite food is. And most importantly, Bright would never call me ‘dear’ or kiss my forehead at night," Gulf explained, leaving Kao speechless.
"I’m sorry... I know you told me to stay away, but I can’t, Gulf. I can't stay away from you. Please... let me stay," Kao pleaded, tears in his eyes. He missed Gulf so much, even though he was just in front of him.
"If I really wanted you to go away, I would have chased you off the moment you hugged me that day," Gulf said gently.
"You knew it was me from the start?" Kao asked, coming closer to Gulf with a small smile.
"How could I forget your warm hug, P... Your perfume that I always liked... And how you comforted me that day. How could I forget?" Gulf said, tears in his eyes.
Kao quickly wiped the tears from Gulf’s face and cupped his cheeks, then kissed him on the forehead.
"I’m sorry, dear... It was all my fault. I shouldn’t have let Ja get close to you... It was my fault," Kao said in a hoarse voice, fighting back tears.
"It wasn’t your fault, P... You shouldn’t apologize. I was too emotional that day and said things I regret. I’m sorry, P," Gulf said, holding Kao’s hand on his cheek as his tears fell.
"It’s okay, dear... I understand you need space. I’m the one who’s grateful you still want to accept me," Kao said, leaning his forehead against Gulf’s.
"How could I let you go when I finally found someone who loves me more than anything, who would put the world behind just for me?" Gulf closed his eyes and hugged Kao tightly, afraid he might run away.
"I missed you so much, dear... I missed holding you like this, talking with you, and everything about you. Just stay beside me, okay? I’ll take care of you forever," Kao said, hugging his lover tightly as Gulf nodded.
After a few minutes, they pulled away, and Kao wiped Gulf’s tears with his hand, which Gulf leaned into.
"I love you, Gulf. I love you from head to toe. I love you for who you are inside and out. You are the most beautiful person in this world, and I will never let you go again," Kao said, kissing Gulf on the lips.
"I love you too, P. Even if I can’t see, I still feel your love for me, and that makes me fall deeper for you," Gulf said, kissing Kao back.

Ja stood trembling in front of the door, tightly gripping his hands. He slowly opened it, and the sight of his beloved Gulf made him stop.
Gulf looked bright even in a hospital gown, his beauty undiminished. Ja felt his heart race, just as it did the first time he saw Gulf cry. Memories flooded back, reminding him of the love in Gulf's eyes when they were together.
"P'Kao? Is that you? Have you settled the bills?" Gulf asked, turning toward the door.
Ja suddenly realized First's words were true. Gulf was looking in his direction but not making eye contact. Ja stood there for a moment, letting Gulf smile at him, thinking he was Kao.
"Why are you silent, P? You should make some noise so I know where you are. My eyes are not the same, P..." Gulf said, smiling, making Ja weak in the knees.
Unable to stay any longer, Ja left the room and accidentally bumped into someone—Kao.
"Dad..." Ja said, tears streaming down his face. Kao remained silent, allowing Ja to process everything.
"P'Gulf... He... It was all my fault, Dad," Ja cried, his heart aching at the sight of Gulf in that condition.
Ja fell to his knees in front of Kao, bowing to the ground before looking up with palms pressed together.
"Dad... I beg you... I want P'Gulf to see again... Please accept my favor."
