31. THUNDER AND RAIN

NATHAN

The next morning started with a loud roar of clouds, making me jerk up in my sleep. I woke up to the sound and found large raindrops striking against the glass of the window. I looked at the clock and it was 6 in the morning but it was still dark outside. It was raining heavily and the clouds had obscured any sign of sunlight.

I turned around and found Ellie shivering with cold in her sleepy state. The weather had turned freezing cold overnight. It was the official start of winters and in no time, it would be snowing. Ellie was sleeping in thin linen pyjamas without any blanket.

I turned towards Ellie and pulled the blanket over her, cozying her in it. Her facial features visibly relaxed and she scooted closer towards me. We only had one blanket right now so I had no choice but to scoot further closer and share it with her.

To be honest, under one blanket, I was getting tempted to cuddle with her. She looked like she would be really warm and soft. And the rain didn't help either. The romantic weather had switched on the horny part inside me.

It wasn't fair. I was in bed with an attractive woman, who was my wife by law and I still couldn't touch her.

I was busy in those devilish thoughts when the clouds roared once again, much louder this time. Ellie woke up with a gasp and looked around in her sleepy state, relaxing after she noticed it was just thunder.

Her eyes then shifted to me and they widened when she realized how close we were.

"It's cold and we have to share the blanket." I cleared myself.

The rain thumped harder against the glass, making the outside almost invisible. Ellie lay back on her side and stared at me with hooded eyes. It felt like I wasn't the only one who found such weather arousing.

"Are we going to work today?" She asked.

"It doesn't look like the rain is going to stop. So probably no." I replied.

"Good" She sighed in relief.

I lay down on my back and stared at the ceiling. It was getting darker outside and the roars were getting louder. And to top it off, I was getting harder at the thought of spending this time wrapped with a woman's naked body. A particular face was appearing in front of my eyes but I didn't want to give it more focus so I kept my horny thoughts generalized.

Ugh, time for a cold shower.

When I returned from the bedroom, I was shivering with cold. I immediately jumped under the blanket and wrapped it around me to heat up my chilly bones.

"What happened? Was the water cold?" Ellie asked in groggy voice.

"Yes." I said, skipping the part that it was intentional.

"Why would you take a cold shower in the morning? Couldn't you wait?" She asked.
"No." I said. "It was necessary."

"Why... Oh..." Her voice stopped in her throat as she realized the reason of my cold shower. Even in the dark, I could feel her face getting redder.

"Don't stress your brain too hard." I said, snatching the blanket more to my side.

"Hey, I'm cold too." She tried to snatch but instead, slid closer to me. "Ugh."

"Ssshhh, let me sleep." I closed my eyes.

"Jerk." Her voice came from a lot closer this time. I tried to open my eyes but the cold didn't let me. I was suddenly too cozy to move so I stayed in this position until I was overpowered by sleep.

When I finally woke up three hours later, my eyes widened in shock as I found Ellie's body intertwined with me. We both had slid towards each other in search of warmth and currently, her legs were wrapped around mine while my limbs were stretched around her waist.

We were so close that I could feel her breath on my neck. My face heated up at the thought of her being pressed against me and the soft contours of her body moulding against my tight muscles. Her face was nuzzled in my neck and her hair was tickling my face.

I angled my neck to look at the window. It was clear outside with no sign of rain. I tried to get out of the bed but our position was too intricate. And secondly, I really liked the feel of her body and didn't want to pull away.

But it was late and before Mom or Aria could barge in, I should move. So I lay Ellie on her back and slowly pulled her legs off me. My eyes unintentionally landed on her long, pale neck and I fought the urge to sniff her.

Sniff her? What am I, a dog?

It was finally time to disengage my hand when Ellie's eyes opened up. Her mouth parted when she found me hovering over me. At first, she looked puzzled. Her eyes switched from my eyes to my lips, then back to my eyes and back to lips again, and stayed there for a brief moment. I myself couldn't stop looking at her lips that looked too inviting and sultry. Our breaths mingled together and I fought the urge to close the distance.

But soon, the look of lust on her face changed into anger. "What are you doing?" She asked and I immediately retreated away from her.

"I... Um.... We...." I suddenly lost my words. I wasn't at fault right now but my mind had stopped working.

"You are such a creep, Mr. Byers." She said.

"I'm a creep? You were the one on my side." I said in my defence.

"You wish." She said, not believing me.

"Oh you think you're so irresistible that I can't control myself? Get off the high horse, Miss." I snarled in annoyance. It was partially true but I didn't want to accept that in front of her. She shouldn't know how much she affects me.

"Sure, only if you keep your hands to yourself." She said and sat up.

"That is certainly not an issue for me " I said and hopped off the bed.

"Good to know." She said and looked away. "Keep it in mind, for future reference."

Oh, I will.

I went to my cupboard and took out some fresh clothes. The weather had calmed now and it couldn't be used as an excuse anymore to waste the whole day. With that thought in mind, I texted my secretary to email all the employees to reach the office by 1 so we could carry on with our day.

Within two hours, we both were sitting in my car while the driver was taking us to the office. There was an air of awkwardness around us and neither of us wanted to be the first one to break the silence.

"The weather is nice." Ellie said halfway through the drive. "Too bad, we couldn't stay at home and enjoy."

"The company doesn't run on auto mode sweetheart." I said.

"I'm sure your board will approve newly weds taking a day off in such a romantic weather." She said and I chuckled.

"Too bad, we won't be doing anything newly weds do." I said.

"Aww, poor you." She said. "It's about time you give your penis some rest. I'm sure it was overburdened before our marriage."

"More than you can ever imagine." I winked and she turned red.

"I'm going to ignore that. I don't want such images giving me nightmares." She said and walked out before me once the car stopped.

"Darling, your imagination can never reach that level." I said, walking behind her and she made a nauseous face. "There's a reason why I was famous as a playboy."

"Famous is not a word I'll use. It's called being notorious." She said.

"Po-tay-to, po-tah-to." I said and entered the elevator behind her.
