"Where's Momo?" Aang asked, looking around. Katara and Sokka sat nearby, their faces reflecting the same boredom Kya felt.
Momo suddenly screeched, drawing their attention. Aang spotted three animals caught in cage traps hanging by ropes on tree limbs.
"Hang on, Momo!" Aang called out, using his airbending to fly up the tree, jumping from trunk to trunk to get higher. He found the traps' mechanisms, undid them, and carefully lowered Momo to the ground, where Katara, Kya, and Sokka were waiting.
They opened the trap together, and the lemur ran out with one of the lychee nuts in his mouth. Katara, Kya, and Sokka watched as Momo got on his hind legs and ate it as though nothing had happened. Sokka grunted in frustration and facepalmed.
When Aang landed, he looked up to see the other two animals seemingly crying out to him for help. "All right, you too," he said, jumping up to them.
"This is gonna take forever," Sokka muttered, throwing his boomerang to simply cut the animals free. The hog monkeys fell before Aang could reach them.
"That works," Aang said, sliding back down from the tree, dirt flying as he landed. Everyone gathered around the traps as Sokka knelt down to examine them.
"These are Fire Nation traps," Sokka observed. "You can tell from the metalwork. We'd better pack up camp and get moving."
Kya groaned. "Argh, they are everywhere."
