I stayed in the hospital for a week. They let me stay slightly longer than I was meant to because Lando had to go to the Hungarian GP and I couldn't be home alone but Lando flew back straight after the race and took me to the Belgian GP under strict rules that I wasn't meant to walk too much. I obviously still had to walk to get back up to strength but I wasn't meant to walk too much to the point that it would like bust my stitches or something which meant that Lando would have to carry me everywhere. We were going into the paddock and Lando was carrying me again.

"Lan, you do know that I can still walk" I said while he was carrying me bridal style

"Of course you can, but it's my job to make sure you don't overdo it. Plus, I kinda like the excuse to carry you" he said as he kissed my forehead

"fine. carry me as much as you want" I said. He carried me to his driver room and put me down. He carefully pulled my sweats down slightly so he could check my stitches before putting me on the couch and wrapping me up in a blanket

"Everything looks good. Just remember to take it easy" he said

"just don't worry too much about me while you're racing. I'll be watching it from here and I promise I won't leave this room while you're in the race"

"I know you won't, and that means a lot to me. Just focus on resting and getting better" he said before softly kissing me

"i will. now go have a good race. good luck, be careful, don't die, I love you"

"I love you too, Lexi. And don't worry, I won't die. Not when you're counting on me" he said. He came 4th in the race. I only found that out when I woke up from my nap and he was next to the couch, holding my hand. "How you feeling, Lexi?"

"alright... you look like you have something to tell me...?"

"Yeah, I do. I know you were looking forward to our trip to Bora Bora, but... we're going to have to wait a bit longer. Your leg needs more time to heal properly"

"fucks sake... okay..." I said. I knew I couldn't go with my thigh like that but it still hurt to hear it. I had waited for this holiday. I was so looking forward to a break from the world and here it was slapping me across the face again.

"I'm sorry, Lexi. But it's for the best. We don't want to risk anything happening during our trip"

"I know..."

"I promise, we'll go as soon as your leg is ready. And we'll make it up to you, okay?"

"okay..."

"You know I'll always do everything I can to make you happy, right?"

"yeah... my phone is being so annoying. it keeps showing me videos of cute babies. my baby fever is progressively getting worse"

"Aww, I think that's just your body's way of telling you it's time to start thinking about having kids. But don't worry, we can take a break from racing and focus on that for a while"

"my ovary is screaming. but I still just don't wanna make the mistake of this potentially being too early..."

"I know it's hard to wait sometimes, but everything happens when it's supposed to. If it's meant to be, it will happen. And you have nothing to worry about. I promise to be there with you every step of the way, okay?"

"but we both have to have baby fever for it to really work"

"I guess we do. But if that ever happens, I won't complain. I'll be more than happy to help you make our little baby"

"but I'll end up having a few miscarriages... you know I only have one ovary..."

"Lexi, don't think like that. We won't know unless we try, okay? And even if we do face some challenges, we'll find a way to overcome them together"
