Back Together ~ pt 2

A week later and I was somewhat healed. I was still in pain but not as much. I could move around the house enough without Lando. He had a race so I would have to stay home with Liliana. I was honestly planning just to stay in bed with Liliana the whole time but we did go to the airport with Lando just to say bye to him.

"come on, baby... you'll be late for your flight else" I said while he was still cuddling Liliana outside the airport. He really didn't want to be away from us...

"I know, Lex. I just... I don't want to leave you and Liliana alone"

"we'll be fine, baby. I can move around a lot more now and I'm sure I'm capable of taking care of Liliana on my own. I'll call you everyday so you can see me and our little girl. I promise I'll make sure I eat enough and I'll make sure to feed Lily and I promise I won't start burning myself again or get high on drugs. that's not me anymore. I have our little girl to take care of and I can't be doing that anymore with her around"

"You promise? I want you to promise me that much, Lex"

"I promise on everything. I won't do anything stupid. I'll keep our baby girl safe"

"I love you, Lexi. I trust you completely with our little girl"

"Good. Now, come on... you need to go"

"Be safe, baby girl. Daddy loves you so much" he said as he kissed the top of Liliana's head and passed her to me before kissing me quickly and getting on his flight. Liliana refused to settle for basically the rest of the day until I called Lando. He answered the FaceTime call and Liliana finally settled in my arms as she heard Lando's voice. Such a daddy's girl. "Hey, baby girl. Daddy misses you more than words can say"

"she's only just calmed down... she's been crying since you went in the airport. she's only been quiet for 15 minutes. She's such a daddy's girl"

"I know, baby girl. Daddy wishes he could be there with you right now" he said to Liliana again as I put my phone so he could see our baby girl.

"just do well in the race. win it for our little girl"

"I will do my best to win this race, baby girl. And when I do, you know what that means? Daddy gets to come home to you and mummy" he said. Liliana opened her eyes slightly and smiled at the phone. I still don't know if it was just active sleep or not to this day. "Hey, sweetheart. Daddy loves you so much"

"I'm convinced that her first word will be dada. she loves you so much even though she's only been alive for like a week"

"Well, I can't wait to hear it. And I love you too, sweet pea. Give mummy a kiss for me"

"I think she's more into biting. she's already bit my tit like crazy while I was feeding her"

"Oh, you better watch out, baby girl. Daddy might just bite back!" He said with a laugh which made me laugh too

"it honestly breaks my heart seeing you two apart... I was even crying while Liliana was crying... I don't even think she was crying as much when she was born..."

"I know, baby. It's tough on all of us"

"but you can't just skip races... unless you go and break your leg or something. and that's not me giving you ideas!!! don't go and break your leg!!!"

"Don't worry, sweetheart. I wouldn't dream of breaking my leg - or any other part of me for that matter"

"good. just win the race on Sunday and come straight home. Only 4 days and then you can have all the Lily cuddles you want and then we can figure out how to get you and Lily through you going to the race after that. and the race after that. and so on"

"I promise, baby. I'll win this race and come home to you and our little girl. And we'll figure out everything else together"

"it's just for the next few months. do all your races over the next 3 months while obviously coming home in between them and then it's winter break. you can spend tons of time with us and then Lily will be old enough to come to a race. she'll be at least 6 months old then"

"I love that plan, baby. It'll be great to have some family time in between the races. And you're right. Lily will be old enough to come with us by then"

"maybe you should come back home with some baby clothes for her. as an apology present for leaving this adorable little girl for a race that you have no choice whether you do it or not"

"That's a good idea, baby. I'll make sure to bring back some cute outfits for her"

"well I think you're gonna need some sleep, Lan... it's quite late and you need your beauty sleep"

"Oh no, it really is late. Time flies when you're talking to the most beautiful woman in the world. Night, my loves"

"night, baby. I promise I'll keep an eye on Liliana all night. we'll be watching the race on Sunday"

"Thank you, baby. I'll see you both soon"

Lando won the race on Sunday. I was honestly so proud of him but I was also so tired and grumpy because I got no sleep. Liliana literally refused to sleep and just cried every single night. He finally came home on Monday and I literally looked like death. Dark circles under my eyes and Liliana still crying in my arms

"she's a fucking nightmare when you're not here. somebody obviously already has a favourite parent. I've not slept in 4 fucking days because of her crying 24/7" I said. Lando came over to me and gave me a little kiss before taking Liliana in his arms.

"Hey there, little one" he said as Liliana finally stopped crying

"oh for fucks sake. so she stops fucking crying as soon as she's in your arms"

"There's my little angel. You just needed Daddy to hold you, didn't you?"

"she's 100% a daddy's girl... loves you so much that she will literally cry in anyone else's arms but will be quieter than ever in your arms"

"I know, baby. It's okay. You did great taking care of her while I was gone. Why don't you go take a nice long shower or nap?"

"I'm planning on it. I stink and I'm tired as fuck. I pumped earlier so there's some milk in the fridge for her. I'm guessing you know what to do from there"

"Go on now, sweetheart. You deserve some rest"

"thanks, Lan" I said as I gave him a little peck and went for my shower. I needed it so badly. I needed to relax.
