Back Together ~ pt 2

Lando went to his practice session and I basically got beaten up. Yep, you read that right. Grace came in and basically threw her shoe at me. I guess that's what happens when you're both pregnant and when you forget to message her for like 3 weeks. In my defence, I was busy and didn't have a chance to message her. Luckily she only came in to throw her shoe and then she left. I was on the floor in a ball. Not because of Grace throwing her shoe at me, although it did fucking hurt, but it was because baby wouldn't stop kicking my ribs. Lando walked in after his practice session and saw me on the floor in pain.

"Oh, sweetheart! What's wrong?" He said as he rushed to my side. He put his hand on my bump and he felt how hard they were kicking but they started to calm down

"they've been acting up since you went for the practice session... they've only now calmed down because you've put your hand on my belly... they must have known that you went and they got really pissed off... probably having a little tantrum in there... I couldn't stop crying even though I didn't feel like crying. apparently it's a thing where if pregnant women cry it's because the baby inside them is crying"

"Are you okay? Are the kicks still painful?"

"not now that you've got your hand on my belly... they were painful when you were gone though. they kept kicking my ribs"

"I'm so sorry, baby. I should have stayed with you"

"you had to go for your practice session... don't blame yourself... I think I'm okay now..."

"Well, I'm glad you're feeling better now. You know you can always talk to me about anything, right? Even if it's something silly or not important"

"Mhm... yeah..."

"Good. Because I promise to always listen and be there for you, no matter what. Now, let's try to relax a bit before dinner, okay?"

"we'll have to find somewhere to eat though..."

"We can get something to take back to the hotel. I think you just need a lot of rest at the moment" he said. The race weekend was horrible. Probably because I was just getting kicked the whole time but it was finally time to find out our baby's gender a week later. We decided that we weren't gonna do a big reveal. We just wanted to know in the exact moment. When we got in there and the technician started it up we could see our little baby sucking their thumb on the screen. They were perfect. It was even more perfect when we were told...

"It's a girl" she said. I couldn't believe it. Lando immediately burst into tears of joy and was literally shaking from how much he was crying. This was his dream come true. He had always wanted to be a girl dad and now he was finally having that come true.

"you're gonna get your wish come true, baby! you're gonna be a girl dad. just like you've always wanted" I said while wiping his tears

"I... I don't know what to say"

"you don't need to say anything, baby. just take it all in and watch our little girl moving on the screen"

"She's perfect..."

"just like her daddy. she's gonna be the sweetest little girl ever..."

"I can't wait to meet her. To hold her in my arms and watch her grow up"

"she'll be just like you"

"Well, if she's anything like me, she'll be stubborn as hell and full of sass. But I'm sure she'll also have your sweetness and grace"

"nah. she'll definitely be fully like you"

"We'll see about that. But either way, I'm ready to love her with all my heart"

"same... imagine if we were able to tell our younger selves that we are now having a baby together. I don't think they would believe us"

"I think our younger selves would be pretty shocked. But I'm glad we're here now, having this baby together"

"our own little girl... and, Lan, I promise you'll be a great dad. our little girl is gonna look up to you and she's gonna love you more than anything"

"I promise to be the best father I can be. And I'm sure she'll love me just as much as I love her"

"she will. she loves you already. Just 24 more weeks and then we get to meet our little girl"
