Back Together ~ pt 2

We went back home after a couple days and I was finally going for my driving test. All this time and it was finally the day. Lando had to stay home with Liliana which honestly scared me.

"you've got everything to look after Lils for the day, right? milk in the fridge, i bought some fries for you to make for her lunch because she loves them and I'm trusting you to use the oven without burning the house down. follow the instructions on the packet EXACTLY how it says. Make sure she doesn't leave your sight, keep her entertained and-" I said before he put his finger on my lips to shut me up.

"Shh, I got it. You're trusting me to take care of everything and our little girl" he said.

"Okay..." I said as I took a deep breath. "you promise that you're gonna buy me a car if I pass, right?"

"I promise. If you pass, I'll buy you the car of your dreams" he said. I gave him a kiss goodbye and then I went to do my test.

It was so stressful but I passed!!! I got back home and I had the certificate behind my back.

"How did it go...?" He said and that's when I moved my hands and gave him the certificate.

"I passed!!!" I said and that's exactly when he picked me up and spun me around the room and then pressed his lips on mine.

"I'm so proud of you!!" He said. "I knew you were gonna pass so i kinda bought you the car... it's in the garage" he added. I ran out to the garage and there it was. A light blue Fiat 500. I know, very typical girl car but I had loved Fiats since I was like 15. Life was finally okay again. Well... that was until Liliana's 1st birthday. I wasn't like having any suicidal thoughts but I was just depressed. Probably because my baby girl was growing up. I literally woke up and started bawling my eyes into Lando's arms while Liliana was sleeping.

"she's a year old... she's growing up..." I said as I continued to bawl my eyes out

"I know, love. But our little girl deserves to have a happy birthday. We can do this together"

"no we can't... I'm just gonna cry all day..."

"We can. We're in this together, Lex" he said. It took me a while to calm down but once I finally did Liliana woke up and crawled onto our bed. Lando tickled her belly and her little feet which made her giggle. "Happy birthday, baby girl" he said before Liliana crawled onto my lap and curled up on me. "That's right, sweetheart. Mama needs your love today" he said. Liliana's little cuddles were always the best... baby cuddles are the best things ever but they feel even better when it's your own baby giving you a cuddle. "She's all we need right now, Lexi"

"yeah... it just really hurts today because it means a year ago we became parents..."

"I know, love"

"and it hurts because now she's getting older... she's not even classed as a baby anymore... she's a toddler now..."

"I know... but every stage is special in its own way"

"She'll be walking soon..."

"Yeah, she will. But she'll still be our cuddly little baby girl" he said. Liliana opened her presents with the help of me and things felt fine for a bit. That was until me and Lando went to the kitchen and then heard little footsteps. We turned around and there Liliana was... walking... she didn't even tumble once... she was walking like she had been walking for years...

"Oh my god..." I said

"Wow, look at her go! She's growing up so fast" he said

"she's taking her first steps..." I said with tears filling my eyes.

"I know it's hard, love"

"she's growing up too fast... way too fast..."

"But look at how strong and determined she is. She's going to be an amazing woman one day"

"yeah... still hurts that she's growing up though..."

"It's okay to feel sad, love. We all do. But let's enjoy this moment too. She's taking her first steps!"

"yeah... she'll be running around the house in a couple months now..."

"Yes, she will. But let's not worry about that right now. Let's just enjoy this milestone"

"she's still walking around... she hasn't even fallen over yet..."

"She's doing amazing, love. Look at her go!"

"she's doing so well... she's never gonna stop walking now... she's gonna forever be on her feet..."

"That's right, love. And we'll be there every step of the way, supporting her and loving her"

"yeah..." I said as Liliana walked over to us. "hey, baby girl. you're finally walking... mama and dada are so proud of you" I said as I bent down to her level and then picked her up and put her on my hip. "not so baby anymore, baby girl... you're a toddler now..." I said. The next thing shocked me as she looked at me and said "love you, mama" but it came out sounding more like "wuv woo, mama" which made it even more adorable. She was growing up so quickly... she wasn't meant to say that for like 2 years but there she was... she giggled and tried her hardest to give Lando a little kiss on his lips and then giggled again. "she's getting better with her kisses. although she's only allowed to kiss us on the lips. no one else. no boys" I said

"That's right. You only kiss us on the lips" he said to Liliana

"only mama and dada. you can only kiss us on the lips and no one else"

"That's right, Liliana. Only mama and dada get to kiss you on the lips"

The day honestly was perfect. I FaceTimed Grace and Jackson was also celebrating his birthday and he took his first steps too!!! Our babies were in sync. Same birthday, same first steps, and tons more sames to come.
