Your POV:
I wonder what my life would be like if my father wasn't the man He is. I've always committed to loving him like the daughter I am, but sometimes I wonder what it would be like to be normal.~~~
As I closed the door of my car, I immediately knew the exact number of men surrounding my house with loaded guns; 52.Ignoring all the eyes that followed me as I was let in, I made my way to my father's office, where one of the men I knew as Matthew greeted me.
M: Hello Miss Gates.
I laugh softly and rest my hand on his shoulder.
I: Just because my dad said you have to call me Miss Gates doesn't mean you have to. Call me Isa please.
M: Will be Miss G - I mean Isa.I give him a polite smile before seeing my father sitting on the balcony with a glass of whiskey.
I sigh as I move towards him, knowing I would be moved again.
I am constantly being moved from place to place because of his caution for my safety. This meant that I have no real friends other than my younger sister Emily, although she can be extremely annoying as anything our father does to protect us, such as getting "relocated", is seen as unfair.
I don't disagree with her, but I think since she's 18, she would have come to terms with it by now.
As I reach the open doors, the warm Mexican air hits my face and I stare at my father, waiting for him to notice I'm there. He's always been a person who liked hot, tropical countries, so we tend to own several homes around the globe.
He stares at the sea in front of me and motions for me to sit next to him without even having to look at me. As I sit down in the chair opposite him, he finally turns his eyes to mine and smiles at me. He examines my outfit to make sure it is appropriate or not.
D: You look more grown up every time I look at you.
I: Could say the same about you.I say rather sarcastically and get nothing but a slight mockery in return.
D: Now you know I didn't call you here to talk.
I: I thought.
D: You know I'm concerned about your well-being and right now there are things I'm pretty familiar with, so I'm just asking you to bare me when I say you're going to be living in Texas for a while. As much as I hated having to constantly move to a different school and house, there was no point in complaining, if there was one thing my father hated more than flaws in his system, it was it complain about that.
So I had no choice but to nod my head slowly, he seemed pleased that I wasn't arguing, but I never do. It's always Emily who argues with him about whether she would rather have a normal life than this one. I can identify with her, but I perceive things very differently than she does.
D: Your sister is safe in Texas and is already waiting for you.
He never comes with us when we move, although I know I don't have to worry about him because I trust he knows what he's doing.
D: Simon here will be responsible for you, now you listen to everything he says, no matter how ridiculous. He is my best and most trustworthy right-hand man, he is also the only one who is willing to risk his life for you.
My dad explains firmly as my eyes shift to the man standing at the window.
My father's words became slurred as I studied this guy. He was dressed all in black, with a black shirt, black pants and black shoes. My dad had everyone dress like that because he has this thing for perfection.
His shirt was rolled up to his elbows, revealing black ink patterns on his lightly tanned skin.
His brown eyes sank into the features of my face, although he seemed uninterested. However, his eyes never moved from mine, while his lips never curved into a grin or a frown. Hazel locks were pulled back but also messy, which only made him look more attractive.
His dark eyes stared emotionlessly at me while mine stared back into his, struggling for some kind of reaction.
D: All he does is protect you.
I finally snap back to what my father was saying and look at him.
D: He's just saying that once you're safely in Texas, he'll come back here.
I: Daddd, I don't need him to protect me I can take care of myself.
D: I don't care what you think, Isabell. You are my daughter and you are under my care, Simon will drive you to Texas tonight whether you like it or not. The trip should not last longer than 3 days.I was beyond angry. I can't even fly by plane because whoever he's protecting me from can track me down faster, instead I have to sit in a car with a complete stranger who looks like death in the form of a very handsome man. Then I watch as my father gets up and walks away, Simon follows him.
