The rear view mirror of the car reflected the rose gold mask Johnny had bought for me, you could barely tell it was me, I took the mask off for now and sat with a duffel bag full of weapons next to me.
While Simon and Johnny kept their eyes on the road, I folded my sweaty hands in my lap. The consequences of the decision to come along are finally catching up with me in my mind. The threatening voices in the back of my head were tormenting my thoughts and starting to stress me out, what if I die? What if I never see my sister again? Should I really be here?
Okay, Isa pull yourself together. It's too late to reconsider, I just need to get things over with, and for my own peace of mind, I'd rather get it over with as soon as possible.
The longer we were in the car, the more my nerves started to fray. But soon enough we pulled up behind a large building and Simom stopped the car, it was magnificently large.
J: There are eight guards in the front, so we go through the back, there are only two and they will identify everyone in there before putting on their masks.
Johnny explained, pulling out a tablet and loading up a map of the building. I unbuckle my seatbelt and slide forward to examine the screen, trying to memorize the in and out routes.
S: Robert will definitely be surrounded by security, so it's not smart if we target him, but if there was a commotion we could slip in and grab him.
There was a long pause, three minds collectively thinking about how to distract a room full of highly trained, smart psychos.
J: We need something that won't draw people's attention.
I: We need a distraction.
S: I think we'll use explosives in conjunction with fire.
I: Yes.We both turn our heads to see if Johnny agrees when he sighs.
J: Either this can go really well or we all die and I beat the crap out of you both in hell.
I: What makes you think you can beat my ass in hell?
H
J: No limits in hell.
S: You already live with no fucking limits.Simon shouts before using his dark brown eyes to silence me with a glare.
S: And you, stop antagonizing him before he lashes out and I'm forced to patch up his face. Johnny just let me do this.
J: He's right. I'm going to get out of this car before I break someone's neck.I stare at Johnny in complete shock and watch as he gets out of the car and stands outside to cool off.
S: What the hell is wrong with you?!
Simom turns from the driver's seat and stares me straight in the eyes as if waiting for an answer, instead I break eye contact and look down at the pink of my dress, meekly folding my arms across my chest. It's been a while since he's yelled at me...
S: His purpose is not the same as mine, ISA He doesn't care about your safety, which means he's fucking losing his temper! Stop acting like a damn child before he hurts you and I'm forced to kill him.
There was nothing about his voice that was inviting, which I definitely deserved, it's bad enough that I'm here. With a soft sigh and a tug on my hair, I finally speak up.
I: Okay, sorry, you're right, I shouldn't have done that...
I trail off and stare at him, he was watching me with pure anger in his eyes, eyebrows drawn together and a clenched jaw. But the longer we stared at each other, the softer his features became.
S: Don't look at me like that.
I: I don't like it when you yell at me...My head drops and my eyes drop to my feet. Moments later I feel him grab my face and tilt it up to look at me. I was sitting on the edge of my seat, basically walking next to his, so he was able to give me a soft kiss on my lips. So soft I didn't know if I reacted.
The way he slowly moved his mouth to mine, I knew he wanted it to be passionate and meaningful, almost like a final kiss in case we didn't make it out alive. But I refuse to believe that would happen, he's a capable man and knows how to protect me.
It wasn't until Johnny knocked on the window that we pulled away.
J: Oh damn it! We don't have time for this, let's go!
S: He's right, we shouldn't waste any more time.
I: O-okay.I stutter over my words, still dazed from that kiss, we both get out of the car and Simom grabs the duffel bag and opens it as he closes the door.
I feel his hand brush my thigh through the slit of my dress before he pulls out a gun and sticks it in the band of my underwear, my eyes watching his face as he does so, completely wide in shock.
S: For protection, I need you safe, and I know you can aim, so if you must, use it well.
I: I-
J: Okay, I suggest we put the masks on. The two guards are distracted in front with two ladies. Let's go while you have the chance! He pulls the elastic of his mask and places it on his face. The blue and gold looked good on him and complemented the ice blue eyes hidden behind it.
Simon said nothing more, not even looking at me as he placed the mask over his face.
S: Okay, you find Robert and keep an eye on him. He'll be surrounded by guards and very full of himself. You know how it is, so that shouldn't be a problem.
I giggle at Simon's little comment as Johnny rolled his eyes.
J: And what about you two?
S: We'll cause the distraction, when I call you, you better answer and you better be quick. That was the last word said before they both nod and cock their guns, leading me to the building.
Here we fucking go.
