I watched with a state corrupted by fear but a rare dash of anger, the feeling of being controlled and forced to give this man the codes was insane, my eyes peeking up to Simon's pale eyes for a tiny fraction of time where it almost scares me.
I: Touch me.
I stutter slowly, staring into the man's green irises.
I: And I'm going to scream so loudly that we'll never get out of here.
We're in public. This environment of various witnesses and security guards was perfect for such an exchange. Nothing could go wrong and I just knew, maybe that's why Simon chose the airport.
?: I want the codes, you could probably leave now, but I'll find you later, and then I'll kill him.
He explains casually, nodding his head towards Simon.
?: And I'll spare you and make you suffer.
I: Barbaric.I mutter. I don't have the slightest idea where this courage came from, but my smallest guess is my anger from betrayal, having lied to countless times, that despite this feeling of anger, I still managed to do it, the man's mouth twisted into a grin for a few seconds before he exhaled and hummed.
?: Yes, that's it. Not too hard to pull off either.
Simon grabs my hand again, pulling me behind him protectively once again, even more anger coursing through my veins at his touch and the audacity he has to even try to take over the conversation. I'm totally pissed.
S: Pretty irritating, all this chatter, isn't it?
Simon spits angrily with a look so sharp that it cuts the tension to pieces only to multiply it.
S: She gives you the codes, then you go.
There was no room for my protest as the man raises his hands defensively. He wears all black clothes and his hair is slicked back. The darkness intensifies his cruel humor and shines in his emerald green eyes.
?: We planned this, that's why I'm here.
I watch Simon with such hatred and malice, but when he turns to notice, he doesn't even react, instead moving aside so one of the men can hand me a notepad and pen. The scowl that remains miserably on my face intensifies the moment I start writing down numbers.
As soon as my scribble is finished, I angrily hand it back, jaw clenched, Simon then grabs my reluctant hand and pulls me possessively to his side.
?: Thank you.
The man grins happily, though it's threatening and superficial.
?: I hope those are the right codes, if there's a mistake, I'll send my best people and kill you and any future you two have together.
He threatens with a smile. Psycho. True to his promise, he leaves the airport in the time it takes me to try and calm down, when he has completely disappeared from our sight, I rip my hand away from Simon's with an incredible amount of displeasure.
S: Those were the right codes, right?
My eyes narrow. I can't believe he's more focused on the codes than the lie he just told me! I inhale sharply, my nostrils flaring violently as I exhale.
I: I don't know, maybe they were, but I can't fucking tell you.
I quickly turn around and dash away, aiming to get as far away from him as possible, knowing full well he'll catch up to me effortlessly.
S: Hey.
He calls after me, following my steps as I turn a corner.
S: There's nowhere else to go, Isabell, stop this shit.
