Miguel had a plan and like most of his plans, they weren't well thought out hence the awkwardness that was having a date alongside two other couples. While Cherish was essentially friends with mostly everyone around them, that didn't mean she was on good terms with everyone.
Tory and Cherish had said they were going to be friends but because she was grounded Cherish couldn't reach out making what they said just be words. At school, they were pleasant in saying hello in the halls but didn't have many classes and at the dojo, there was so little space to talk.
Then there was Sam, who was now apparently dating Vic - the one person closest to Cherish and didn't tell her about their relationship status.
"You had many days to tell me," Cherish tells Vic as they wait in line for the restroom. Because there was no gender-inclusive restrooms Vic still had to use the female ones
"Sam wanted to be the one to tell you!" Vic counters as they take a step forward
Cherish sighed, not really caring that she just found out, "Are you happy?"
"Yeah," Vic nods with a smile knowing this is their first relationship for both them and Sam since it's Sam's first relationship with someone who isn't a guy and Vic's first relationship while using they/them pronouns
"We'll talk about this later," Cherish points at Vic before turning to be first in line waiting her turn
Things were going slow, as in the vibe kept on being awkward and it seemed nothing was working to break it.
At the arcade, Robby tests his punch strength in a game where he is to punch a hanging bag.
"It's all in the legs." Robby smiles which is met with sympathetic smiles and bored faces
"Yeah, well congrats on your average leg strength, sir," Miguel says as he leans against the machine which had the scores
"All right, who's next?" Robby asks looking at everyone
"I'll let you keep your high score," Cherish jokes to which Robby shakes his head. The two had been getting along better now that Robby was being nice to Miguel
