Being stuck in a car with her brother who kept taking shifts driving while the other sleeps so they wouldn't have to stop at a hotel wasn't so bad. Turned out that not having to talk about her feelings and just eating junk food while listening to music through her headphones while sitting in the back of her mom's old Volvo was exactly what she needed. Yet having a whole day and a half to do nothing but sit in the back of a cramped car Cherish played games on her phone and journaled.
Cherish was still being updated on what was happening back at home. How Miyagi-do is officially closed because Daniel didn't want to put a target on the students' backs. While the sensei's logic was very reasonable it left the students upset that they couldn't keep practicing the sport

The Luck-Marie siblings arrived in New Orleans late afternoon and while the first thing they should have done was hug their family the siblings stretched instead. With many bones popped the kids then hug and greet Freya, Keileen, and Nicole.
Freya guided Cherish up the stairs helping her with her bag and explaining the rooming situation, "Your mom telling us you were coming at the last minute meant last-minute preparations"
"Where am I sleeping?" Cherish asks because normally whenever she stayed over she'd be walking to the regular room that she'd been sleeping in forever
"Niki's room on an air mattress." Freya answers walking over to the corner room on the second floor "She normally walks off to our room in the night so you'll probably have the room to yourself"
"Okay," Cherish sighs walks over to the folded air mattress in the pink room, and drops her backpack next to it
"Settle in and then we'll go out and get some beignets," Freya smiles knowing that was the girl's favorite thing about the city and she was right because the thought of beignets, it made her truly smile
