Using his laptop - considering Johnny had his phone - Miguel accepts Cherish's facetime call and immediately sees her on the screen while she stands in her kitchen with her headphones on. Confused by her surroundings Miguel asks, "Are you home?"
"Yeah," Cherish sighs having left Devon's place now feels like a blur "the sleepover was a bust"
"How come?"
"You're missing your phone right?" Cherish asks already knowing the answer but answering back with a question felt like the right starting point
"Yeah"
"Johnny has it" Cherish informs him keeping her answers short
"When-" Miguel starts to say but stops himself when he sees Cherish disappear from the screen and return with a baking pan "Are you baking?"
"Yes," Cherish says throwing the ball of cookie batter from the mixer onto the clean counter making her tablet wobble
"Bambina, is this about meeting that art professor?" Miguel asks still not sure what actually happened and he thought she would share just as he had shared how visiting the college campus and seeing Kyler made him know he should give his all on Stanford
"Not this time. It's just Johnny had this whole plan to make Tory and Sam become enemies or something, but in them actually fighting about their past i learned how they actually became enemies"
"At the beach resort?" Miguel questions not quite remembering for certain all of it feeling like years ago
"You knew," Cherish glares never having heard the story until now
"Only one side of the story" Miguel protests knowing he must have not gotten the objective side of it "Why does it matter now?"
Holding up a baking roller Cherish hits the cookie batter even if it wasn't necessary considering it was relatively soft, "I'm joining the Sekai Taikai"
"Really?" Miguel asks excited that she'd be joining in on the competition
Cherish fixes her balance after reaching for a towel to clean her hands from batter transfer, "I decided tonight and no backing out or fighting half heartedly. Which means we are going to be training and making sure to add extra care to strengthening your back"
