In the cold vastness of space, the Statesman drifted silently, a fragile sanctuary for its passengers. Inside, Thor and Loki moved with a sense of urgency, their faces etched with exhaustion and resolve. The Tesseract, the object of their desperate quest, lay concealed within a secure chamber. They had hoped to use it to turn the tide against Thanos, the Mad Titan who had left a trail of destruction across the galaxy. But their hope was about to be shattered.

A dark silhouette eclipsed the dim light of the distant stars. The Sanctuary II, Thanos' colossal warship, loomed menacingly above them, its presence casting an ominous shadow over the Statesman. The tranquility of their situation was abruptly broken by the shrill alarm of the ship, signaling the approach of their enemies.

Thor and Loki exchanged a grim look, knowing that their chances of survival were slim. As the Statesman shuddered under the pressure of the approaching threat, the doors to the control room exploded inward. Jonathan Johnson, an embodiment of dark power and malevolence, emerged through the smoke and debris. His entrance was marked by a blaze of fiery energy that crackled around him, a harbinger of the destruction he was about to unleash.

Jonathan's eyes, glowing with a dangerous intensity, locked onto the Tesseract. His dark armor and the flames dancing around him created a stark contrast against the sterile, metallic interior of the Statesman. The air was charged with an oppressive heat as he advanced towards his goal, the Space Stone pulsating with an ominous light.

Loki, clutching the Tesseract tightly, moved to shield it from Jonathan's advance. "Thor, we need to get the Tesseract out of here!" Loki shouted, his voice strained with urgency. He started moving toward a hidden escape pod, hoping to buy them time.

Jonathan was faster. With a wave of his hand, he unleashed a wave of fire that sent Loki crashing into the wall, the Tesseract flying from his grip. The stone clattered across the floor, its glow dimming slightly as it lay abandoned. Loki struggled to rise, his face contorted in pain, but Jonathan was already upon him. He grabbed Loki by the throat, lifting him off the ground. The flames seared Loki's skin, causing him to gasp for breath.

Thor, seeing his brother in peril, summoned his strength and hurled Mjölnir towards Jonathan. The enchanted hammer, imbued with the power of the gods, struck Jonathan with a thunderous impact, knocking him backward. But Jonathan's flames flared up, absorbing the energy of the strike and propelling him back to his feet. He turned his attention to Thor, his eyes cold and unfeeling.

"You're brave, Thor," Jonathan said, his voice a low growl. "But bravery won't save you."

With a wave of his hand, Jonathan conjured a shield of flames that absorbed Thor's lightning attack. The energy dissipated harmlessly against the barrier, and Jonathan advanced on Thor with a malevolent grin. The fire that surrounded him seemed to take on a life of its own, twisting and writhing as if eager to consume everything in its path.

Thor roared in frustration, summoning another bolt of lightning. But Jonathan was ready. He deflected the attack with a wave of his hand, the lightning dispersing harmlessly into the air. The heat from Jonathan's flames intensified, scorching the floor and walls of the Statesman. Thor could feel the heat searing his skin, but he pressed on, determined to protect his brother and the Tesseract.

Loki, still struggling in Jonathan's grip, attempted to use his magic to free himself. But Jonathan's flames burned hotter, overpowering Loki's efforts. With a cruel smirk, Jonathan hurled Loki across the room, the Asgardian hitting the wall with a sickening thud. Loki's body crumpled to the floor, unconscious and battered.

Thor's eyes filled with a mix of rage and desperation as he saw his brother's limp form. "No!" he shouted, rushing to Loki's side. But Jonathan was relentless. He advanced on Thor, his flames intensifying with each step.
