22. Trouble has entered

Roy rose the accelerator faster than before. He pulled Dew's arms around his waist. "Hold tight"
There is still one black car which caught up to them.

Many questions are crossing across Dew's mind amidst all the chaos. Who are those people trying to attack April? What is Roy doing here? He was not wrong that it's indeed Roy who helped him to get back home the other day. But April said no one else came with them. Is he tailing them? Is it a coincidence?

Roy is riding fast in a winded fashion to confuse the car driver. As he expected the car has lost its grip and collided with a side rail resulting it to stop.

Roy and Dew rode further for a long time till they were sure that they are not being followed anymore.

Roy made a stop at an abandoned gas station in the wilderness.

The long winding dangerous ride took a toll on Dew. He puked on a nearby bush at once.

Dew felt a pair of hard hands around his ears. He felt his ears burning. Roy gave him some water to settle down.

The wolf like eyes showed a rare concern "Are you okay?"

Dew nodded but could feel the dizziness all over this body.

"Hold on a little while" Roy gently leaned in his shoulder so that Dew could rest a bit.

"Target's safe. Trail 32 near Tating forest road. Hurry up" Roy talked to someone on phone.

As Dew recovered his senses he looked straight into the wolf like eyes. "Who are you?"

The setting sun rays touched Roy's haggard face, as his wolf like eyes shined mysteriously.

As June lost his consciousness only one image played repeatedly in his mind. It's the 5 year little old April, the first time they met under the maple tree.

It was the cusp of the autumn just like now. The red from the dried maple leaves painted a nostalgic picture. There is June swinging alone in the kindergarten park. He was bored waiting for his mom to pick him up. Suddenly he heard a faint cry from behind. She saw a little girl in cute red dress crying her balls out rolling on the ground.

Her mother seems to be coercing her about something but the little girl is clearly mad about it. The little girl only cried louder.

June got up from the cradle to see what's the commotion is. The little girl stopped crying at once as she looked at June. She looked at this little boy with a non chalant look.

June scratched his head a little out of confusion.

"What is your name?" She asked.

"June" he answered.

She laughed at once wiping off her tears. From that day onward April proclaimed June as her best friend and a trouble entered his life.

He doesn't know when it started or maybe it was that day under the maple tree they first met, he fell in love with her.

When his parents left him, there is only one thing in this world that anchored him to life. It is April.

The first time when he realized that he saw April as more than a friend he cursed himself. He was so disappointed in himself for a reason he did not know.

When he left for Winterford he missed April every single day. Julie is a reminder that he should move on. Only that he could never. Never after that day April kissed him in the parking lot.

It was a drunken mistake but he wanted more. It is the bond he should never wish for. He shall never disappoint April with his unwanted feelings.

Those unwanted feelings arose tonight again. When he saw April near death's door. He would rather gladly enter it before her. The thought of someone hurting her made his blood boil. He couldn't care less if he dies protecting her and rammed his car infront of the sea of bullets.

still warm and at once, June recovered his senses. He saw April is no where near.

He painstakingly opened the car door and started to run in the wild to find April. Under the faint moon light he could see the fresh footsteps. He fastened towards that direction. At a distance he saw Julie and the flash lights and realized what she was doing. She's going into the lion's mouth by herself.

His breathing became rapid as he mustered all the energy in his body, in his last blood drop and started to walk towards her direction. He shall protect her no matter what.
