24. Stopped making trouble

"Maddy, I have something to confess" April looked flustered.

"Spill the tea" Maddy looked invested.

"I...I...k..kissed him" April's cheeks flushed red.

"Woah woah woah, when did this happen?"

"On that night when the attack happened"

"Shut up!! What are you waiting for? You both just date already!"

"Erm...that...but I don't know..I don't know if he likes me the same way"

"Ofcourse he does, otherwise why would he save you at the cost of his life!"

"Erm...that"

"Stop halting, now that he stays in the mansion 24*7, I am telling you this is the best chance to tell him"

"But I am afraid what if he rejects me straight out. I cannot handle it. Isn't there any subtle way I can know if he feels the same about me?"

"Hmm..that's very unlikely of you to beat around the bush. You must have come to really like him alot. Ummm..what about this? You suggest a movie night with him and slowly try to make a move. If he responds positively then you know, if not then you know too"

"I can try that, I think he will be free now, i will ask him now" April blushed.

"What's the matter, you two acting all sus" Ace came in between. Maddy and Ace dropped by Parker's mansion to check on April and June after the attack.

"I gotta go first, I will catch up with you again guys" April ran towards the right wing of the mansion.

"What is it Mads?" Ace inquired.

"April is gonna get herself a boyfriend soon" Maddy said smiling bright.

"Boy friend? Who?"

"That hot rider! Roy of course, I must say he is quite lucky that Mrs Parker appointed him as in charge of Mansion's security after saving April!" Maddy giggled.

Except for June no one knows that Roy is working for Mrs.Parker since long time back. Name sake he is on mansions security team but he is still acting as secret body guard to April.

"What? You sure about that?" Ace raised a brow.

"Ofcourse she said they kissed the night on night of attack. Besides she always low key had a crush on him, don't you remember on my birthday she went on that ride with him?" Maddy protested.

April looked into the mirror for the seventh time checking upon her hair and dress. It felt very new for her to do this. But she wants to look the prettiest to her love.

She knocked the door slowly and entered the room.

June is on phone, "Sorry Rita, to burden you with this"

"Don't worry boss, I got this. Also the extra people you arranged are quite helpful" Rita assured June.

"How is Neil doing? Is his aunt back in town?" June looked worried.

After Rita's response, "If you need anything you can always call me" June smiled a little.

"How is Ri doing? Is everything okay?" April took a seat beside June's bed after he hung up.

"All is well, your mom arranged for some temporary workers for me." June looked relieved.

"How's that trouble maker doing?" April rolled her eyes.

"Rita said lately Neil stopped making any troubles" June smiled.

April's heart skipped a beat suddenly. Her eyes focussed on to June's lips as she gulped unknowingly. Her thoughts strayed away to the night she kissed him.

The moments where she is uncertain of seeing him forever made her realize how much she wants him by her side.

On the other side, June's heart skipped a beat too just now as he noticed April all dressed up.

"How is it going today" April asked avoiding June's gaze.

"It's fine, the nurse just redressed the wound" June smiled.

"I am glad. I was wondering...if..if you want to watch a movie tonight with me" April blushed.

"Ofcourse" June smiled.

Blood rushed to April's head at the thought of them being intimately watching the movie while to June it was just one of the regular movie nights amongst the tons they had before.

"Alright it's settled then! Let's watch a movie after dinner" April smiled.

Even before April started to execute her plan it came to a halt.

A little after dinner Lara gathered April, June, Maddy, Ace, Dew in the lounge near June's room.

"I have something exciting to announce to all of you" Lara sounded pleased. June and Dew nodded in agreement while April, Maddy looked confused"

"Since June is going to stay here for a while, we don't want to stall his future plans but help him. We are going to lay the groundwork for the pet store-cafe project. Not only that we want to scale the project to few other pet stores in different cities."

"June, Dew and a special person are going to lead the project and April, Maddy would be apprentices. Maddy, your mom and I already talked about it. I already set up an office on our third floor" Lara announced joyfully.

Maddy looked like her life has been sucked out of her listening about her mom. But she couldn't say a thing as her mom finalised it with Lara.

But wait does that mean, I can see him more often now that I visit the mansion often? Maddy's eyes twinkled.

April looked pleased as well as she gets to work closely with June along with her favourite cousin and girl bestie. What else could go wrong right? But wait, "Who is this other special person?" April asked curious.

Right then, a click of high heels vibrated along the hall way.

Maddy's mouth wide opened as April's face turned pale looking at the person those high heels belong to.
