It had been three months since the end of the clone wars and the death of Chancellor palpatine. And much had changed since then.

The Republic had declared absolute victory, with the seperatist leadership crushed and only a few scattered holdouts remaining in the outer rim. The grand army of the republic would allocate its resources towards grinding down these holdouts one at a time.

The corporations that backed the seperatists were weakened severely, having their positions in the senate removed and many of their resources nationalised by the Republic. While they still held significant power, this ensured they could no longer influence the Republic's politics to the same degree.

Meanwhile, within the jedi order, mace windu had been forced to resign as to not tarnish the orders reputation. He was replaced by anakin skywalker, who quickly became a major proponent of reform, including the lifting of rules that prevented jedi from having relationships.

However, within the halls of the senate building, an important matter was being discussed.

The Republic intelligence services had recently discovered a seperatist fleet had went missing around the galactic frontiers leading into the unkown regions. At first, it was assumed they had just become lost within the vast expanse of unmapped territory. However, they soon learned that this wasn't the case: much the fleet had been heavily damaged, but had crashed onto a relatively unknown planet on the galactic Fringe. A planet known as remnant.

Currently, the politicians of the galactic Senate were debating the issue: should they send the grand army to this relatively unknown planet, or should they ignore it and leave the damaged fleet to its own devices.
