(this is going to be a shorter chapter detailing what has happened on menagerie since chapter 7)
Blake strolled through the streets of kuo khana, the capital of menagerie. Ever since the attempted coup by the white fang, the island had been much more peaceful.
No longer did people fear the thought of white fang recruiters convincing their loved ones to join. They didn't have to worry for white fang 'reprisals' for wanting to have anything to do with humanity. They were just free to live their lives.
The 13th battalion and their commander, blaze, had decided to stay on menagerie for a while longer, both to act as security and to hunt down any white fang loyalists who might have fled to the deserts in the islands south. However, they also had another interest on the island.
With the white fang officially dissolved as an organization, most cells across remnant were called back to menagerie, where they merged with the local guard. Cells loyal to Adam and the albain brothers remain, but they were too small to be of any threat. This in turn resulted in many with combat experience joining the guard, who had also been receiving training from the 13th beforehand.
By now, the menagerie defence force, or M.D.F, had gone from a small, almost medieval-equipped militia to a full-time military, with Sienna kahn as its commander. It was nowhere near the size or strength of atlas, but it didn't need to be: it's primary focus was security.
The M.D.F could roughly be split into three formations:
-the menagerie security force was the largest of the three formations, and acted as the islands police and defence forces. Their uniforms consisted of red jackets, black pants and combat boots
-the Royal guard was the smallest formation, acting as bodyguards for the chieftain, protecting him, his house and his family. They wore the same armor as the old menagerie guard, and mostly served ceremonial duties
-and lastly was the most secretive branch: the menagerie special forces. Consisting mostly of former white fang operatives, they were mostly kept out of the public eye, and undertook covert operations, as well as worked alongside the 13th in hunting radical White fang cells. Their uniforms weren't too different from the original white fang, with the red and black replaced with blue and grey
All in all, menagerie had come out as a new nation: one with a stable government and a strong force to protect their people.
Blake herself hadn't been idle during this time either. Partnering with many former members of the white fang, the daughter of the chieftain founded a humanitarian organisation known as the white paw. It's foundation heralded much positivity from many in the four kingdom's, who belived the paw Pro-peace speech and active denouncement of white fang radicals were a sign of positive change.
As Blake walked through the streets, she noticed a small clearing near the market. There, she could make our a group of new recruits for the M.D.F being trained by clone troopers in hand to hand combat.
Watching as a recently-made friend of hers, sun wukong, got his ass handed too him in a mock fist-fight, she couldn't help but let out a chuckle.
Things really seemed to be improving for the better...
