Weiss and Mercury navigated the streets of kuchinashis lower levels, attempting to find their way out of the city. Weiss was in a... Less than stellar mood.
"I'd say that went pretty well" mercury said, dusting off his jacket sleeves.
"and how, pray tell, could that have gone worse?" weiss asked, clearly not amused
"you could have either not paid him and failed to get your info, or attacked him, which would most definitely result in his bodyguard killing you. Either way, you've got your info." the grey-haired boy stated. Weiss couldn't really argue with that.
Eventually, the two made their way into an alleyway, which Mercury knew would take them straight to the surface. However, before they could leave, a voice called out behind them.
"hey, you!" the voice called out. "you mercury black?"
The two turned to see a pair of men dressed in dark suits with red ties, one of them carrying a dust rifle. They were agents of the xiong family

"yeah, I am" mercury replied. "what's the problem exactly?"
"the problem is that you owed the hana guild about 15,000 lien after they bailed you out on a failed job. And you also owe the wave for getting you those Prothstetic legs."
"so. I figured the hana guild would come and sort it themselves?" mercury replied.
"haxion brood wiped out the guild." the xiong thug stated. "we're in control of their territory, operations and debts now, and that includes yours. We want that money, now."
"you thing bribing the white fang is cheap? I spent that lien!" Mercury stated.
"the wave wants their investment back to."
"I never made a deal with the wave!"
"sure, we'll tell them that when we bring them your corpse!" the xiong thug stated before they raised their weapons.
Before they could fire however, one of them felt a sudden pain in his stomach. Looking down, he realised that weiss had used her semblance to launch herself forward and stab him in the stomach.
The second thug, shocked at what had just happened, pulled out his pistol and aimed it at weiss, only for mercury to lunge at him.
The two struggled for a bit as mercury tried to pull the gun out of his hands. The gun accidentally fired a few times, nearly hitting weiss and even the ones tussling over it.

Eventually, Mercury backhanded the thug across the face, sending him tumbling to the floor and allowing him to grab the gun. As he pointed it and prepared to fire, the thug got on his knees and began to beg.
"p-please, don't kill me! I-I'll tell them you died. Make them forget about the debt! I'll d-do anything, just don't ki-"
Unfortunately, he didn't get to finish, as mercury shot him, instantly killing him. Weiss watched as his lifeless body dropped to the floor, complete apathy in her eyes.
"we need to get moving" she stated, putting her sword away.
"agreed." mercury replied, wiping blood from his jacket.
Eventually, the two made it back to the surface, where they snuck past the troopers guarding the upper levels of the city. After leaving the city altogether, the two sat down to assess their situation.
"so, we've got a supply ship leaving mistral city next week." Mercury said. "I'm guessing you don't need me anymore-"
"actually, I do." weiss stated, surprising mercury. "you've been good help as of late, and I could use some help getting onto that ship."
She stuck her hand out.
"what do you say?"
Mercury contemplated it for a moment... Before reaching out and shaking her hand.
"deal." he said. "it's not like I've got anywhere else to go."
And with that, the two set off for mistral city... Or rather, they waited as weiss called in a bullhead to take them their...

Back within kuchinashi, specifically within the territory of the wave, the organisations leader, lemon, was thinking to herself in her office

She knew she and her group didn't have the strength to fight the haxion brood alone. Spider would likely give their full support to her cause, but with the hana guild gone, and the Pro-haxion xiong family in their place, it wasn't going to be that simple.
Before she could contemplate further, however, the door to her office opened, revealing a wave member.
"pardon me ma'am, but this arrived on a doorstep addressed to you." they said, brandishing a circular device.
Curious, lemon took the device and placed it on the table. Suddenly, blue light erupted from its center before taking the shape of a man with a Prothstetic arm.
"madam lemon." the man said. "my name is general satdowel. And I belive we may be able to help each other..."
