It had been a week since the remnants of the true mandalorians had been discovered and brought onto the fold of the new republic forces in vacuo. And much had gone well.
Once they had revealed themselves to the wider galaxy, many within the true mandalorians, tired of fighting, decided it was time to lay down their blaster and retire. Many settled on remnant, integrating into the local villages, while others took the journey to mandalore and it's alligned planets.
For those who didn't retire, they were quickly deployed to support remnant occupation forces, continuing the job they had been doing before: fighting the various warlords and bandit tribes. With their aid, combined with them finally being able to actually fix their armor and replenish their ammunition, the warlords stood very little chance, with the few that were left opting to merge with the league of bones.
In turn, the Republic rewarded them in the form of a modified light cruiser which would act as their home and headquaters. The true mandalorians would take to calling this ship 'the dutchess' in memory of dutchess satine kryze, who they frequently fought for when they were at war with deathwatch
However, the most astounding thing for the true mandalorians was their increase in numbers. Even though many had hung up their armour, people from across remnant, especially huntsmen, volunteered to join the organisation.
Of course, many younger people joined for the cool armour, but they were promptly refused. However, those that did join adhered to their code of honour without hesitation, and quickly became friends with the older members.
However, their was one new younger member who quickly became the organisations favorite member
And it wouldn't be long before they deployed on their first combat assignment...

Within the northern deserts of vacuo was a camp belonging to the league of bones. The league raiders here were simply their to scout the area, and potentially find villages to pillage and loot, maybe bring back a few slaves if they were Lucky.
Compared to the likes of the white fang or even the branwen tribe, the raiders seemed downright primitive. Their armour was constructed from the bones of grimm, and their had next to no firearms. Mostly just dust blades and the like
