''What the fuck happened to your face?'' was the first thing Sam woke me up to, not a Goodmorning or a here I made you coffee. No, instead I get cursed at and yelled at, and I'm sure it's not as bad as she thinks it is. ''Nothing, I just got a door in my face.'' I grunted as I pulled myself out of bed. ''It looks like you've been in a fight. You can't go to class like that.'' Sam grunted out underneath her breath. I walked over to the mirror, only to find the biggest bruise ever. She was right, and maybe I was wrong? No door could do this, the black eye had cracked my eyebrow and was stretching all down to my cheekbone.
''No one will notice. Can you please make some coffee? I'll be down in a sec.'' Sam gave me a small nod and walked out to the kitchen as I examined my sour face. Sure, this Asher was good looking. But was that worth looking like a gang member? I pulled on a white shirt, with a pair of low-waist black jeans. I usually wear my hair up, but not today. I brushed out my hair, and
threw on a pair of black platforms. I hurried down to the kitchen and poured down my morning coffee. Before leaving I made another cup, to go and then we were on our way.

''So, you going to tell me who did this to you?'' Sam grunted as she looked out the car window. ''It's no one, and it was an accident.'' I could feel how Sam glared at me, and I knew that if I didn't tell her. It would be the end of me. '' Okay, his name is Asher. Some guy at school I guess.'' Sam started screaming, and I was so scared.

But thank God I was the one driving. ''Asher?? Like Asher Grey?!'' I focused on the road. ''I don't know. He said his name is Asher.'' Sam was screaming, twisting and turning in her seat as she giggled out loudly. ''You mean, that Professor Grey did that to you?'' What the hell is she even talking about? Professor Grey is like 40 plus, not in his mid-twenties. ''What are you talking about? Professor Grey is like 40 years old.'' I
mumbled. ''No no, no, his like in his mid-twenties. Maybe early thirties. And so fucking sexy. You must have known him? Haven't you seen him at all?'' Sam grunted at me, like I know
everyone who teach at our school. ''Why would I have seen him? Professor Grey is not our professor, doesn't he teach like bio or something?'' I said as I drove into the parking lot. I turned off the engine and turned over to Sam. ''Well, how should I know? But this is great, did he ask you out?'' I gave her a gently hit on the shoulder and headed out of the car. ''Come on Dawn, he must have asked you out after that
black eye he gave you!'' she shouted from the car. got to class, and I told Sam to shut the fuck up about any of this. We sat down, but Ms. Collins wasn't here yet, which was super strange. She was always on time, and on time meaning 30 minuets early. Like every day.

I turned around to ask Kevin in my class, but right when I was about to ask him the door opened and everyone went silent. I turned back and there he was. Asher. My blood froze, and my lungs broke down. Then I felt a kick on my leg, I looked over at Sam whom seemed to be all too eager over this.

''Ms. Collins is sick so I will be here for the week. I'm Professor Grey. Now, I know you have a paper that's due on Friday.'' he said, as he let out a cold breath. ''Before we start, we will each introduce ourselves. You there. You'll start.'' He sounded harsh and tired. Not warm and kind like he did yesterday. Everyone stood up and said their first and last name, and then my turn came. I rose from my chair and tried to avoid eye contact. ''Dawn Foster.'' I mumbled then hurried
back down, letting my body melt into the chair.

As everyone continued, I noticed how his eyes was set on me. But thankfully that didn't last long. ''Good, now if you need anything. I'm right here.'' And I'll be damned. I needed something; I needed a new assignment. I finished mine last night while bumping into him. I took a deep
breath and walked up to him. ''Excuse me.'' I whispered. He looked up at me, and his face froze. ''I need a new assignment. I'm done.'' I said as I twirled a stray of hair. He cough and looked away for a second, or two. ''I have nothing other than this. Maybe you have something unfinished from another class?'' His eyes wandered up
and down my body, like I was uglier than I was yesterday in the shallow light. ''No, I'm done with all my classes.'' he rubbed his chin and his eyes looked focused, and the shade of green was slightly darker than before. ''Maybe read the textbook so you are well prepared for the next paper.'' he suggested. I gave out a little laugh. ''Excuse me, Professor Grey. But I'm done with everything for the whole semester.''
He looked shocked. Like it was impossible to finish everything so fast. But I liked being ten steps ahead. ''Then start on next year's book, Ms. Foster.'' I could hear Sam burst out into laughter and before I could hush her down, Ash... I mean, Professor Grey gave her a deadly stare. ''What's so funny, Ms. Marshall?'' Sam straightened her back, but her laughter was nowhere to be over. ''Nothing. It's just that Dawn is pretty much done
with everything we have to do up until graduation.'' What can I say? I don't have a
social life, and I like to know what's ahead of me. ''Well then, come with me and we'll find you some work.'' He said and opened the door for me. ''I'll be right back.'' he added to the class. As he was leading me somewhere I couldn't help but feel nervous. All this talk from Sam had me walking on eggshells.
