One week Cam was sick, so I had to go to school alone, which was the worst. I couldn't focus on my classes, and I spent my lunch break eating in the girl's bathroom, with some other lonely girl who was crying her eyes out.
After school I went to Cam and knocked on his window, he opened it and we talked for an
hour. I later went home and ate some food, but during the night I fell ill from his sickness. Even though I had kept my distance his stomach flu had got its grip around me. And my parents were freaking out, so I suggested that I could stay with Cam, so they didn't get sick. And before I knew it they were calling his parents and begging them to take me in. Which they did.
I now had entire days just laying in bed, enjoying my time with Cam. Well enjoying wasn't the right
word, considering that I was puking my guts out most of the time. But Cam helped me, he held my hair and gave me water. He also stroked my back which was so nice. We spent the week by puking, watching movies and cuddling.
Even though I was super sick I was still extremely happy, I had now been with Cam for almost 168 hours without having to go home. So you can imagine my disappointment when we got better and it was time to go home to my own bed, well I still saw him every day. And he promised to also make me sick if he ever got sick again.

After school we always spent 1-2 hours studying so we could keep our grades up, I helped Cam with math and he helped me with my history
assignments. We were inseparable, and his parents was the sweetest on earth.
They always invited me over for dinner, they took me out with them. And it felt like the family I never had. I was so happy, until Cam told me he was going to Alaska for a week. I was crying like a kid who dropped its ice cream.
But then he waved a plane ticket in my face, "I thought you'd like to come with me, so I bought you a ticket." I was so happy that I thought I would explode. I took the ticket and hugged him. "Of course, I'd like to go! Is it cold? Gosh I have to look for my winter clothes!" Cam laughed and hugged me a little more.
I've never been anywhere else than Seattle and a week in LA to visit Felix.
So going to Alaska was exiting, I didn't mind the cold considering that the weather here in Seattle wasn't the best. We were leaving in two days so I was super stressed about packing, I asked my dad to help me bring down the winter clothes from the attic so I could pack warm. I pack some warm sweatshirts, knitted socks, sweatpants and a little more stuff. I was going to Alaska with Cam, not with Cam and his parents but just the two of us.

Sure, we were staying at his grandparent's place, but I didn't mind. They lived in a city called Palmer, close to where Cam grew up. I could barely get any sleep the night before we were leaving, I was so excited and nervous at the same time I couldn't wrap my mind around that Cam wanted me to go with him.
But I was so excited, I got up at 5am and ate some breakfast before my dad was taking us to the airport. Cam came over at 5.30, he had a thick green jacket. And a pair of black jeans and some boots. I took my bag and we got into the car, the whole ride to the airport I asked over a hundred questions. My dad laughed a little,
thinking that I could relax and that it all would be alright. And sure, I knew that, but I just wanted to be fully prepared, you never know if you stumble upon a wolf or anything other that just might kill you.

But Cam told me that the city they were headed to was nothing to worry about, that most animals you'd see would be some deer's and moose.
The flight took around 3,5 hours and I actually slept through it. And I had apparently been sleep talking a little, but not so clear that Cam understood what I was talking about. His grandparents were waiting at the airport for us, and when they saw Cam, they smiled and gave him a big bear hug. Then his grandma
looked at me with a smile on her wrinkly face. "You must be Dawn, I'm Mary." She walked over to me and gave me a big hug, then his grandpa came up to me and hugged us both. "I'm Gilbert, nice to finally meet you, young lady." I instantly liked them both, they weren't some old grumpy people instead they were warm and welcoming. In the car back to their house they told me about how Cam was when he was a young boy, apparently, he had a thing for getting in trouble and running away to look for bears. I also found out he loved animals so much as a kid that he refused to eat meat, which was a problem considering that his whole family hunted.
