Madison's pov (November 6th, 2017)

Thank god school was finally over. It was the weirdest first day ever. Everyone pointed and stared at me as I walked passed them in the halls, a bunch of guys and girls wanted to sit with me at lunch, and somehow everybody already knew my name. I even had a few people try and flirt with me.

I sat on the bleachers and watched the cheerleaders practice while I waited for my dad to come pick me up. I glanced over to my left, seeing a girl come up to me.

"Hey." She said as she sat down next to me.

"Uh. Hi." I replied.

"You must be Madison, the new girl. I'm Ellie." Ellie smiled at me.

I rolled my eyes. "Am I just gonna be referred to as 'the new girl' by everyone now?"

"Sorry." Ellie apologized.

"It's okay." I said. "Look, if you're here to flirt with me, you can just go. I've had enough of that today and I just want to be left alone.

Ellie chuckled. "I'm not here to flirt with you."

"Good. Why are you here then?" I asked.

"Because I know the first day of school can be tough for a new kid. I was the new kid last year and nobody talked to me for the first month." Ellie told me.

"Yeah, well, I wish it was like that for me. Everyone can't stop looking at me and whispering about me." I replied.

"Well, have you looked at yourself?" Ellie asked.

"What do you mean?" I furrowed my eyebrows.

"Everybody is looking at you and knows your name because you're hot." Ellie replied.

"Seriously?"

"Yeah. You're the schools newest, hottest popular kid." Ellie said.

"Huh. You know, I thought I would hate all the attention but it actually felt nice. At my old school nobody talked to me." I told her.

"Well... You're at Temecula High now. I guess that means you're gonna join Olivia's posse now?" Ellie asked.

I scoffed. "No way. I can't stand that girl. She's such a priss."

"Yeah, maybe. But she's super nice." Ellie told me and I gave her an unconvinced look. "Have you spoken to her?"

"I mean, she gave me a tour of the school." I replied.

"And?"

"And I met her boyfriend. According to Olivia I was mean to him so she told me that if I wanted to make friends I should be nicer to people." I explained.

"What'd you say?" Ellie wondered.

"I told her I didn't need friends and I didn't need advice from the schools queen bee. Then she had the audacity to call me an asshole." I rolled my eyes.

"Well... that was kind of an asshole move. She was just trying to be nice." Ellie said. "Maybe you should apologize."

"Whatever. I still stand by my saying of not needing her advice or friends." I crossed my arms

"Damn. So, I guess that means you don't want to be friends with me?" Ellie asked.

I chuckled. "I guess you could be an exception."

"Good." Ellie smiled.

Olivia's pov

I crossed my arms and shook my head as I watched Madison and Ellie talk. "I can't believe this."
