After liking Olivia's Instagram post and leaving a comment, I put on my backpack and went downstairs to go to school.

I've had a great week so far. I'm doing well in classes, Mom and Dad aren't arguing that much anymore, and i'm in a happy and healthy relationship with my favorite girl ever.

"Madison, can you come here?" Dad asked from the kitchen.

I walked into the kitchen and saw Mom, Dad, and Liam sitting at the kitchen table. I furrowed my eyebrows before setting my bag down and sitting next to Liam.

"What's going on?" I asked. "I have to get to school. I'm already running late."

Mom looked at Dad. "Do you wanna start?"

"I don't have anything to say." Dad shrugged.

"Seriously?" Mom asked.

"I thought we were gonna do this after school." Dad argued.

"Hey." I stopped them. "Just tell us what's going on. Are we- Are we moving back to Boston?"

"No." Mom said causing me to let out a small sigh of relief. "I am."

"What?" Liam asked.

"Your mother and I have decided to legally separate." Dad told us.

I slightly dropped my jaw. "Are you fucking with us?"

"Language." Dad warned me.

"No!" I exclaimed as I stood up.

"Honey, I know you're upset, but-"

"Yeah, I'm upset! I thought you guys were getting better! You were fighting less and started sleeping in the same bed again." A tear fell down my cheek.

I waited for them to answer but nobody said anything. I picked my backpack up and put it on, walking to the front door.

"Madison-"

I slammed the door shut as I left the house, cutting off my dad. I put on my hood and wiped my tears as I started to walk to school.

I walked into my first period class thirty minutes late. My teacher stopped talking as she and the rest of the class looked at me.

"You're late, Miss Hutchins." My teacher said as I walked over to my seat.

"I don't give a shit." I mumbled as I sat down in my seat.

"Excuse me?" She asked.

"Just teach. I'm here now." I told her.

She went back to teaching as I took out all my stuff that I would need for class. I could feel Olivia's eyes burning into the back of my head from behind me. I don't think she chose to say anything just yet because she knows how I get when I'm upset.

When school was over, I sat in the front of the school for around 40 minutes. I was walking home today but I didn't want to go home yet.

Eventually, I did start walking home but instead of going to my house, I went to Liv's. I knocked on the door and she opened it up.

"Hey, baby." Olivia greeted me.

"My parents are getting a divorce and my mom is moving back to Boston." I admitted to Olivia.

Her face fell before she grabbed my hand and took me up to her room. She shut the door before sitting in her bed. I sat down on the bed in front of her, hugging my knees to my chest.

"Mads, I'm so sorry." Liv apologized.

"They told my brother and I this morning before I left for school. That's why I was late." I told her.

"Is that also why you were rude to our teacher?" Olivia wondered.

I shrugged without saying anything.

"Let me guess. You're mad at everyone and everything because just when you're getting used to things changing, they change again." Olivia guessed. "Am I right?"

"Wow, you nailed it." I told her as I ran my fingers through my hair. "God, It's brutal out here."

Olivia let out a small chuckle before she laid down on the bed and opened her arms. "Come here."

I laid down on top of her, resting my head on her chest as she wrapped her arms around me. "I'm just really scared, Liv. The divorce isn't finalized yet but it already feels different."

"Oh, baby." She rubbed my back. "But that's all it is. Different. That's not necessarily bad."

"It's really hard to talk about it, you know? Not with you, but anyone else, it's like..." I trailed off.

"You can talk to me about anything anytime, okay?" Liv told me. "You know that, right?"

"Yeah." I softly said. "I swear you're the only person who gets me."

Liv smiled. "You're the only person who gets me."

"That's why we're so good for eachother, babygirl." I replied.

"It sure is." Liv chuckled.
