Olivia's pov (March 8th, 2020)
I sat on a bench as I watched Madison punt a football on random field. We were in LA and Madi was getting a little stressed with her music and usually playing football helps her. I was just here for moral support.
She watched the football soar through the air before it landed on the ground. I watched her run and get it, her almost slipping on the wet grass. It had just finished raining around an hour ago.
"Be careful! I don't want you getting hurt." I called out to her.
"I'll be fine. Don't worry." She replied as she ran back over to me.
"Okay..."
Madison punted the football again, trying to get it farther than she did before. She ran to get it once it landed on the ground. This time she really did slip and fall to the ground.
"Ow!"
I widened my eyes before running over to her. "Are you okay?"
"Shit." Madison cursed as she stood up, holding her wrist as she walked off with a look of pain on her face.
"Hey, hey, hey." I stopped her. "What happened? Let me see. Are you okay?"
"I- I think its broken." Madi told me.
"Madison." I let out an exasperated sigh. "I told you to be careful. We should take you to a hospital though. I can't drive you so I guess we'll just call an ambulance."
"I can drive." She said.
"You cant drive. You have a broken wrist." I replied.
"I drive all the time with one hand. It'll be fine." She took her keys out of her back pocket, quickly walking to her car.
We sat in the waiting room of the hospital. I hugged Madison's arm that wasn't broken while she held an ice pack to her wrist. I think her adrenaline wore off so she shed a few tears once the pain really kicked in.
"You okay?" I asked, comfortingly rubbing her bicep.
"Yeah. I just wish they would fucking hurry up and get me an x-ray." Madison said.
"I know, baby. They're going as quick as they can, I promise." I tried to comfort her.
Madison finally got her x-rays taken in her wrist and it turns out she had a scaphoid fracture and needs to be in a cast for six to eight weeks. Apparently it was really common for football players.
"Can I be the first to sign your cast?" I asked Madison with a hopeful smile.
She let out a small chuckle. "Of course you can, my love."
I picked up a black pen from off the counter in the doctor's office before I sat down in the bed next to her. I took off the cap before starting to sign my name. I wrote 'Liv' in cursive, dotting my 'i' with a heart.
"There you go." I said.
"Its cute." Madison smiled down at it.
She looked up at me into my eyes. I looked into her left eye and then her right eye before I leaned in and kissed her lips.
"Next time be careful when I tell you to, okay?" I teased her as I wrapped my arms around her neck.
"Yes, ma'am." She joked. "Shit, Jack is gonna kill me. This is the hand I play all my instruments with."
"I think you'll be fine." I smiled.
The hospital room door opened and Madison and I looked at the door to see Sabrina Carpenter walk in. Madison stood up, forcing me to unwrap my arms from her neck.
"Hey." Madi greeted her, wrapping her arms around her waist in a hug.
"Hi." Sabrina replied, wrapping her arms around Madi's neck to hug her back.
They hugged for a few seconds. A little too long for my liking but I tried to control my jealous. I eventually did clear my throat to break them up.
"Sorry it took me so long to get here." Sabrina apologized. "I came as soon as you texted but there was a lot of paparazzi for some reason."
Why did Madi call her and tell her to come here?
"That's okay." Madison assured her. "Sab, this is my girlfriend. Liv, this is Sabrina." She introduced us.
"Hi. It's really nice to meet you." Sabrina held out her hand for me to shake. "Madison talks about you all the time."
"Nice to meet you, too." I shook her hand. "Madison... doesn't really talk about you."
Sabrina just gave me a smile before turning to Madi. "So what's the deal with your wrist, Mad dog?"
Madison chuckled at the nickname. "I was playing some football and then I slipped and landed on my wrist."
Sabrina let out a small giggle. "You slipped?"
"Hey, don't make fun of me. It had just finished raining when I fell." Madison defended herself.
"Don't worry. I'll tell people you broke it trying to tackle someone so that you can still have your tough girl dignity." Sabrina winked at her.
Madison playfully rolled her eyes at her. "Thanks."
We finally got back home to Madison's apartment from the hospital. She sat down on the couch, elevating her wrist up on a pillow as she watched Shameless on Netflix.
I sat down next to her on the couch, glancing down at Sabrina's name on Madi's cast. "H-how come you asked Sabrina to come to hospital?"
I decided not to bring up how close they seemed.
Madison looked at me, giving me a small shrug before looking back at the tv. "I don't know. She brings me comfort, I guess."
I stared at her for a few seconds. "I don't bring you comfort?"
"Of course you do." Madison told me. "It's just that, you know, she's my friend."
"I'm your girlfriend. I should bring you more comfort than a girl you barely know." I said.
"Baby, I didn't mean it like that. You bring me way more comfort than she does but sometimes it's just better to have some extra support." Madison explained to me. "I'm sorry. I love you so much."
"I love you too." I softly said before she kissed me. "I'm sorry. I just got a little jealous."
"It's okay. You're allowed to get jealous. But just know that you're the only girl out there for me. We're getting married one day, remember?" Madison nudged me with a small smirk.
I blushed as I looked at her. "I know."
