Olivia's pov (December 14th, 2017)

I knocked on Madison's bedroom door, hoping she would let me in. She hasn't been to school in a couple days and she's been really depressed. I assume it's because her parents divorce was finalized the other day and her mom officially moved back to Boston.

"Come in." I heard Madison say from inside.

I walked into her room, shutting the door behind me. She was laying in her bed, facing the wall with the covers pulled all the way up to the base of her neck. She wasn't on her phone because I could see it shut off on the foot of her bed.

"Madi?"

"Hm?"

I went over to her bed, sitting on the edge. "Are you okay, baby?"

Madison stayed silent for a few seconds. "No." She softly said.

I pulled the covers off her and she sat up. I straddled her waist and wrapped my arms around her neck. She wrapped her arms around my waist as she looked at me.

"So..." I started. "I know you said you didn't want to go to a therapist."

"Liv." Madison groaned.

"I think it'll be good for you, Madi." I told her and all she did was stare at me. "One of my dads friends is a therapist. I could have my dad talk to her and see if she could help you out."

"Olivia, I don't want a therapist." Madi replied.

"You don't want one, but you need one. Please, Madi. I don't like seeing you so upset. And as much as I love helping you through all your problems, you need to see someone who specializes in it." I tried to convince her. "Please. For me."

Madison let out a sigh as she looked into my eyes. "Fine. Only for you. And only if you come with me."

"Well, I can't actually be in the room with you when you speak to her but I'll go with you when your dad takes you." I told her.

"I guess that's okay." Madi said.

"Good. You coming to school tomorrow?" I asked her.

Madison nodded. "Dad said I have to."

I gave her a small smile before leaning in and kissing her on the lips. "Don't worry. I wont leave your side all day.

The next day, I walked up to Madison at school with two cups of coffee in my hand. One for me and one for her.

"Hey, Madi." I greeted her as I handed her the coffee.

"You got me coffee?" Madison asked.

"Yup. Made just the way you like it. Almond milk, two pumps of caramel, and three packets of sugar. The coffee place was gonna give you four but I know you don't like a lot of sugar." I smiled at her.

Madison smiled back at me before kissing me on the lips. "Thank you so much, babe.

"You're welcome." I blushed. "Um... so, I got you that appointment with my dads friend. You free at six?"

"Yeah." Madi nodded.

At 5:45 pm, I got in the car with Madison and her dad to go to the therapist. I know Madi was nervous so the two of us listened to her favorite songs on the way there in hopes that it will calm her down.

When we got there, the therapist was already ready to see Madison. She looked at me with a nervous look. I wrapped my arms around her neck and hugged her as she wrapped her arms around my waist and hugged me back.

"It's only a forty five minute appointment. I'll be right out here if you need anything." I softly said in her ear.

She hugged me a little tighter before going into the therapist's office. I sat down next to her dad in a chair in the waiting room.

Madison's pov

I sat down in the chair in the therapist's office. My therapist, Amy, was sitting in the chair across from me.

"You can relax, Madison." Amy let out a small chuckle when she noticed how tense I was. "I'm here to help you. Olivia has already told me a bit about you. You're originally from Boston, right?"

I nodded.

"And when did you move here?" Amy asked.

"A little over a month ago. I made friends pretty quickly so going to a new school wasn't all that bad." I told her.

Amy nodded. "Can you tell me about your home life?"

"Um... I lived with my dad, brother, and mom up until the other day. My parents got a divorce so my mom moved back to Boston." I said as I stared at my lap and played with my fingers.

"I'm sorry to hear about that." Amy said.

I shrugged. "It's fine. They've been fighting since we moved here. I saw the divorce coming so I'm not all that upset about it."

"That's not what Olivia told me. She said you haven't been to school in a couple days and that you haven't really been talking to anyone." Amy said.

"I guess that's not... a lie." I told her.

When the session was over, I left the office and went back over to Liv while my dad went into the office to talk with Amy for a bit. I sat down next to Olivia as she looped her arm around mine.

"How'd it go?" Olivia asked.

"It went okay." I shrugged. "She's nice."

"Yeah." Liv glanced down at the books in my lap. "Whatchu got there?"

"Self help books." I answered. "Amy said that there are some things in here that explain ways to cope with depression."

"Hm. Can I read them when you're done?" Olivia asked. "Just so I also know how to help you when you're really down."

"Yeah." I told her. "Thanks for setting this appointment up for me. It actually helped a lot."

"Of course." She rubbed my bicep. "I'd do anything for you."
