Madison's pov (November 21st, 2017)
I sat down on the bleachers outside of school while I waited for the cheerleaders to finish practice. Liv's parents were taking me home today which meant I had to wait for Olivia to be done with practice.
I watched the cheerleaders practice their routine. Well, I was mostly watching Olivia. I barely even noticed the other cheerleaders were there. Ever since that day at the mall, I've thought about Olivia differently and had different feelings towards her.
Every time we make even the smallest amount of eye contact, my heart flutters. Every time we hug or she smiles at me, I get butterflies. Every time I see her do any PDA with Louis, I feel a pain in my heart. Sometimes I even stutter or ramble when I talk to her. I don't know what's wrong with me.
"Who are you looking at?" Ellie asked as she sat down next to me.
"Nobody." I answered, not taking my eyes off of Olivia.
Liv glanced over in my direction, making eye contact with me and giving me a small smile. And there go the butterflies.
Ellie placed her head next to mine, following my line of sight. "Olivia? Why are you looking at Olivia?"
"I'm just... trying to figure something out." I replied before I noticed Olivia walking over to us causing me to look away from her. "Shit. She's coming over. Pretend we're having a conversation."
"We are having a conversation." Ellie replied.
"Hey, Madison." Olivia greeted me.
"H-hey, Liv." I said as I made eye contact with her.
"I'll be done with practice in an hour." She told me.
"No problem. Take as long as you need. I like watching." I replied before slightly widening my eyes. "Not in a creepy way! The moves you guys are doing are really cool and interesting to watch. I mean, how do you even do all those flips and stuff? You must do a lot of practicing. But, yeah, practice as long as you need. I'll wait." I rambled.
"Okay." Olivia chuckled before going back to practice.
I let out a breath as I watched her walk away. I looked at Ellie, seeing her look at me with a smirk causing me to furrow my eyebrows.
"Madi's got a girlfriend." Ellie teased in a sing song voice. "You totally have a crush on Olivia."
I widened my eyes before quickly shaking my head 'no'. "No, I don't!"
"Yes, you do." Ellie smirked. "You want to make out with her under the bleachers during halftime at the football games?"
My cheeks turned red as I stared down at my shoes. Ellie chuckled before nudging my arms.
"Relax. I'm teasing you." She told me.
"I... I don't know what I feel for her." I admitted as I looked at Liv on the field. "Sometimes I think I like her as just a friend but then when I'm with her I don't feel the same as I feel around you or Iris or Jenna, you know?"
"Maybe you do have a crush on her." Ellie shrugged.
"I don't even know how it feels to love someone or to be loved by someone." I told Ellie. "I've never had a girlfriend or a first kiss or even held hands with a person romantically."
Love isn't even a word my parents say to each other anymore.
"I don't know, Ellie. Maybe it's nothing." I shook my head.
I sat with Olivia on my bed as we watched a movie on my tv. I've noticed her inch closer to me every few seconds which low key made me kinda nervous. I had a pretty big bed so it wasn't like there was no room. Our shoulders were nearly touching.
I glanced at Olivia, my heart pounding in my chest. There is some sort of tension between us tonight. I wonder if she feels it too. Liv looks at me, giving me a soft smile causing butterflies to flutter in my stomach.
"What's on your mind?" Olivia asks with a playful tone.
I hesitate a little, glancing at her lips before looking away with a small blush on my cheeks. "I was just thinking."
"About?" Liv softly asked causing me to look back at her.
"About... about you." I admitted shyly.
"Really?" Olivia asked and I nodded. "I've been thinking about you all night, too. Specifically about what it would feel like to kiss you."
I almost choked on my own saliva. Olivia smirked at me before she slowly leaned in.
"What about Louis?" I wondered.
"Fuck Louis." Olivia answered before our lips collided.
I swear the whole stopped for a moment. I slowly closed my eyes, relaxing into the kiss as I kissed her back. The kiss started out gentle and hesitant at first but after a couple seconds we got more comfortable.
When we finally pulled away, I stared into Olivia's eyes, breathless. She stared into my eyes giving me a smile.
"Wow." Was all I could say.
"Madison?" Olivia asked.
"Hm?" I hummed.
"Wake up." She told me.
I furrowed my eyebrows. "Huh?"
"Madison, wake up!"
I jumped awake at the sound of Liam's voice. I slightly sat up, propping myself up on my elbows as I looked at him. It was just a dream?
"Dinner is ready. Mom told me to wake you up." Liam said.
"Oh. Okay, I'll be down in a minute." I told him as I fully sat up.
Liam left my bedroom, closing the door as he left. I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes before looking around with a small smile. It was just a dream.
Maybe I do like Olivia.
